I Am An Atheist

Even if there was a god, prayers are useless.
Why? Because first of all, the Christian god is said to have a plan which implies that he had already made up his mind about everything that would happen, so why would he change his plan to a random person's liking?
And second of all, because apparently everything comes down to our "free will"; whenever I'd tell Christians that despite all their prayers for me I was still an atheist, they'd tell me it was ultimately my "choice", which pretty much implies that prayers don't do shit.

If you don't believe in a god, why do you bother making these posts?
GoldenWorm · 51-55, M
@SW-User and how many non he/she his/her have you personally run into?

@GoldenWorm
10% +
Sure. Even if that was true that leaves the other 90% to deal with their bullshit, and most people don't like it, myself included.

@SW-User you seem angry.

I get to deal with 37% being unrelenting bigots and people like you three doing name calling, pile on and otherwise attacking me instead of making a point.

You're not going to win the oppression Olympics, no one does. To argue you have it rough...

Personally couldn't give a shit. As far as I see it, it doesn't even matter. People can't handle their own shit, despite knowingly getting themselves into 90% of whatever problems they claim to have. Despite being warned.

If there is a God or higher power that created us, he probably left us the day he created us. If not for the whole plan thing then because of how we act.

And at the end of the day religion doesn't do shit for anyone other than being in income if you're a church or a false sense of hope/purpose.

Just don't belittle the views of others because they're different and live life the best you can.

I'd love to have a conversation with God and lucifer though. Cause if they do exist... Boy oh boy am I tired if their family drama.

How many believers do you find posting about how atheism doesn't make sense to them? Just curious?

Wouldn’t it imply that their god wasn’t imposing himself on your free will?

Well, if they prayed for you, I would assume that it would be for you to find their god. If their god were to reveal himself to you as a result of their prayer and not because you actively sought him out, wouldn’t it technically be eliminating your choice?

I tend to overthink things. @Emosaur

I think prayer helps people who believe in it , not through any god but through the strength and comfort it gives them . If a man believes then in his life that is his truth.His truth may not be my truth . But i won't question or try to change his truth. Why do people insist on someone proving something to them when in their world what that person thinks is not important? I don't pray but if someone asks me to pray for them i will.

Connections with people don’t have to produce results to be meaningful.

@Emosaur I guess if all your posts were about asking for proof of God’s existence you’d run out of things to write really fast. So that makes sense. Even though that’s all you care about, you got to change it up somehow.

@Emosaur Of course. I’d expect nothing more from you.

So you're saying prayers are supposed to make you change your mind ? What are you saying really ?

@Emosaur I don't know how prayers are supposed to work either. I always thought it was just like a cry for help. But then what happens ? How do you know the message has been delivered ?

There is a GOD but he prays to us. One of his prayers is please don't be a Christian, don't be a Muslim, don't be a Jew. Lol!
