If you get a chance to teach SW crowd, what will you teach them?

MaryJanine · 61-69, F
To be a decent human being while online with a virtual stranger. There is no need to swear or reflect on someone else's mental health and stability. How do you know what they are like? How would you like to be called the things you call some people? People you don't even know? Think before you reply.

And don't interrupt personal conversations on SW. If you weren't invited, you are not WANTED. Especially so if you don't know the subject. You wouldn't do this to someone you know on the street. Be polite when you are right.

Probably kindness and to be respectful of people. There are lots of nice, kind and caring people here, but there are also people who comment mean things to people who post about going through a hard time. I would probably teach them to treat others how they want to be treated

Growing up, I had to watch what I said in front of my nephew. Remember the old song, "Here comes the bride, fair, fat, and wide?" Well, I used to sing that whenever I saw a wedding on TV. I didn't realize Ryne picked it up until one day, when the program began to play the song and my nephew began, "Here comes the bride, fair, fat, and wide, see how she waddles from side to side-"

"Ryne!" I interrupted.

He looked at me and said, "Well, YOU said it!"

Smart kid. Too smart.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MaryJanine I remember when we said that in grade school too. 😂 Haven’t heard kids say it in a long long time

Manners and social interaction. Honesty. How to be faithful and a friend platonically and have boundaries. Self respect and how to respect others. Etc.
Would be pointless probably.

Sadly, most lack the interest and capacity for learning. It's pointless!
@SW-User what made you think so 🤔

They would not want my teaching and feel I am far from able to teach it.
I rather like talking about opportunity cost and its applications.

How to treat others as they want to be treated.
@MaryJanine everyone who is sane (not mentally ill) knows that and you can't teach to someone who is insane.
