Our cat has been avoiding us all her life

@CrazyMusicLover My cat, who I rescued after she was abandoned, majorly gave her previous owners the cold shoulder when they tried to greet her again...

..they were gutted...the thing that astounded me was they had no idea at all why the cat was so dirty on them...lol

...however, she has showered me with love every day since I took her in...we are besties! 😊

@Mandalorian Wasn't she distrustful at the beginning at all? I don't remember how my grandmother got ours but she says she came as a kitten to her door and stayed there but never let anyone touch her. We always took her as a semi-feral cat.

@CrazyMusicLover My cat took a while to fully trust me because she was feeling the hurt from the abandonment...but once she realised I was the real deal, she followed me everywhere like a dog...so cute! 🥰

@MushroomFaerie Depends 😅 Her son comes to everyone and has always loved to be petted. I thought it was just because he's a tomcat. A common scenario at my grandmother's house is that the cat usually always hangs around the house while the tomcat strays who knows where. He is away for days but when we come for the weekend he shows up and suddenly half of my family gets excited and rushes to pet him. Sometimes I thought that the cat was jealous or offended by the way she stared but why should she be when she never wanted us to pet her in the first place?

@CrazyMusicLover they all have different personalities. Some of them need more reassurance than others ❤😀😽

@SW-User That lady knew how to communicate with animals but above all she was a real animal lover.
I admit I never tried hard enough to gain that cat's trust. Probably none of us did.
