Depending on the medication, it can take up to a few weeks to kick in. After that you'll want to discuss with your doctor either increasing the dose or adding another medication as a supplement. Hang in there.

Psych meds are like that: you only have your own subjective experience to go on to determine whether or not they're working, and people vary hugely in how they respond to them. Antidepressants just made me cycle harder, which made the depression half worse. It might be that you're on the wrong one.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. Depression sucks! Are you on a new medication or is it one you've been on for a while? If it's new, it may just need time, but the dosage might also need adjusting. If it's not new, it could be a dosage issue, or perhaps it's not the right med for you. Regardless, you should discuss it with your doctor or med psychologist. I hope you can find what works for you and feel better soon. :-)
you probably don't need to increase your dosage other wise it greatly affects your daily function. try to find out what is the trigger for the bad episodes, and avoid it or try to minimise it. When in doubt seek medical advice.
