What's the funniest fiction book you've ever read?

For me, it would be a debate between:

Seriel, A Year in the Life of Marin County by Cyra McFadden

AND

The One Hundred Dollar Misunderstanding by Robert Glover

I read the $100 Misunderstanding in college in the late 1960s. And a couple times since. Very funny!

A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole is an absolute riot. It's set in New Orleans

Give Us a Kiss, by Daniel Woodrell (1996).

I don't really read comedies, but I will say that Stephen King always makes me chuckle in parts of his novels.

@DearAmbellina2113 Comic relief is an absolute necessity in King's novels and I am glad King realizes it. He's made me laugh out loud more than once.

The Water Method Man, John Irvin
