What's your opinion about a teacher telling a student "you come here to study, not to use washroom. So don't drink much water"?

Believe it or not, I had to hear those words yesterday and it was hurtful.

i come here to get my useless paper degree so that i can get more paper for which i can use to buy paper to wipe my ass. Either way, it all ends up in the washroom asshole.

I know it had to hurt
and adult having to be reminded of something you should learn by 1st grade

Unless you have a note from Mommie you have weak kidneys
you're asked to hold it
You are given scheduled bath room and stretch breaks

"Do not disrupt my class "

And you're over 18 and that "Hurt you "?

or they could go regularly outside of class time. that’s what the teachers usually do. @bijouxbroussard
@DoubleRings Or they’d ask a teacher with a free period to watch their class for a moment. I was asked a couple of times. But then, we weren’t forbidding students from going to the restroom if they needed to, and I don’t remember anyone abusing it.

Never in 20 years asked a teacher to watch my room. Never been asked either. always went at lunch or recess. never had an accident. not saying i wouldn’t if i had to, but it would be a very blue moon - not 3x a day everyday. whether or not kids abuse it I’m not even opening up that debate. @bijouxbroussard

There's a number of reasons that a person might need to use the bathroom more than others such as health issues, so not just drinking lots of water. I'd just tell them if they have a problem with you, they need to take it up with your doctor.

@NiftyWhite Yes but many join in the 18-21 category so that they can interact with the adult population.
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
if I can’t make assumptions about age @SW-User neither can you. what’s posted is 18-21. that’s all we’ve got. regardless of the actual age, it says 18+ he could he 7 for all we know.
SW-User
@NiftyWhite You can make assumptions and so can i. He says teacher so that suggests high school not university, and the vast majority of high school students are under 18 so adding that to the fact that a significant number of under 18's are listed on here as 18-21 then one could conclude that it's statistically more likely that he's under 18. Then since it's just a fun forum based around a lot of assumptions and we're not a legal body about to make a policy decision affecting schools and students in future, i chose to not to request further data on age and other factors before i posted what was a fairly general response to his general question about a teacher/student interaction that i have had some experience with, within my local environment. I'm sure if my assumptions or yours were incorrect, the OP, if it concerned him would question us or provide further data to allow for a more accurate response.

kids your age were sent to WW II in the 1940s. and you find this “hurtful” do you?
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
i can’t help how you feel. or how i feel for that matter. cheers. @MartinTheFirst

@DoubleRings Your pride keeps you from seeing your own faults and bettering yourself.

we will have to agree to disagree. @MartinTheFirst

Butt hurt precious. Get over it and stop wasting your education.
I used to get in trouble all the time for using the staff toilet..
Students toilets were feral..
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Well I don't cause that kind of trouble.
Wasn’t really trouble.. they just hated the fact I was crapping in their toilet 😏👍
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
empty your bladder regularly when it’s not class time then. on a regular basis so it doesn’t affect learning time
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
@NiftyWhite some people need to go sooner than others and an double lesson can be hell.
Fernie · F
Hurt? Why would you be hurt? Be PISSED OFF! I would report that...you can't tell people how much they need re: washroom and water...you might have some medical issues.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
Report the cunt. They can’t stop you. If they do piss all over their desk to show dominance.
@Longpatrol I had that in mind.
Fernie · F
@Longpatrol Please don't call women that disgusting word....please. An evolved MAN would never use that demeaning term.
I guess many misunderstood me.

This is my first ever time in years to ask for permission for going to the washroom.
I always make sure that I use it just before the lesson starts and during break time. I like feeling comfortable during class hours, that way I could focus.
I've also never sleep during class period.

I'm just a human being and I have needs to fulfill too. Not every time you're gonna expect things to be 100% perfect.

Her statement in general bothers me because it's not like I'm that type of student who would ask to go to the washroom every lesson, but what bothers me the most is when she advise "so don't drink much water".
She's a teacher, and somehow I feel that statement is totally out of place.

if that’s the case then consider it a general comment and move on. @Ichangemyusername
In my school district that teacher would have been let go.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
Umm I would think they’re weird honestly
SW-User
What if they're really dehydrated?
@SW-User Right.
I’d wonder how someone so foolish became a teacher. Studying doesn’t require you to check your health at the door. Drinking water is a way of maintaining good health and many conditions (diabetes for example) have people needing to drink water, and subsequently, go to the restroom frequently. I’d report that teacher.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
That'd be an offense of the legal system in sweden.
