yes i donated blood once at a blood drive in middle school. i passed out unconscious for like two hours and they told me not to donate blood anymore

I never have successfully donated blood.
The first time I went, I fainted.
The next time, I had broken my ankle and they wouldn’t take it because I was on crutches.
Then for many years I was “permanently banned” because I was “a man who had had sex with another man since 1977, even once”....and I wasn’t going to lie about it, even though I knew that I had been tested and wasn’t HIV positive.
While they reduced that from “lifetime” to "1 year” a few years ago, and down to “3 months” due to a blood shortage due to COVID-19, I have not donated since.

No. I was anemic for a while and my blood was pretty much garbage. Now that I'm healthier, I'm kind of reluctant to part with any.

I tried before and got denied. 😅 I don’t have any medical issues but I couldn’t get myself calm enough for my pulse to be “normal” for them.

@MorbidCynic I tried it once too but the medical staff that was supposed to take the blood was still in training and he had to try several times to get it right 😅 My arm was quite black and blue and after that, I've been reluctant to do it again ;p
