Critical race theory [I Sympathize With Native Americans]

I wonder if the right also doesn't want the history of Native Americans taught to their children? Is any history that makes them uncomfortable intolerable?
SW-User Best Comment
Probably. We already have Republican lawmakers suggesting that schools should teach the ‘good side’ of slavery. If they’re uncomfortable about understanding the horrific history of American slavery, then they would be just as uncomfortable learning about the history of Native Americans.
I learned both good and bad. @SW-User
They had stability. Not all were beaten or raped. Some lived in good conditions and a few were set free. @ninalanyon
tindrummer · M
@ninalanyon no to your 2nd question but a fair # of confederate apologists claim many slaves were happy with their lot - these aren't people I would socialize with on any level

BlueVeins · 22-25
Honestly, the name "critical race theory" makes it sound like it's some weird social hierarchy teachings when in reality, it's just being honest about the country's past lol. If you can't address your nation's past crimes, you're not a patriot, just a deluded sucker.
tindrummer · M
@BlueVeins exactly
Human1000 · M
@BlueVeins That's not CRT. History is history. CRT is about analysis, expansion of definitions, and recommendations.
Crazymatt · 31-35, M
It honestly only breeds more hate and animosity to different races...leave that shit in the past and let's move on and get along with each other.
tindrummer · M
@Crazymatt difficult to change the present without knowledge of the past
Crazymatt · 31-35, M
@tindrummer not true...I dont need to know blacks or other races were mistreated to know how to treat them equally TODAY! Focus on today's treatment not the treatment in the past
tindrummer · M
@Crazymatt I disagree but ok.
Human1000 · M
CRT is not history. This misconception is nearly ubiquitous.
Eeyore122 · 36-40, F
@SumKindaMunster I am a she. And I am not in the classroom right now. Ergo, I can voice my personal opinions.
Human1000 · M
@SumKindaMunster I didn’t think you could have thought that, but it seems there is no opportunity for benefit of the doubt or clarification anymore.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Eeyore122 Oh gee, someone made an assumption about you that wasn't true? What's that like, hm? 🙄
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
Teachers should focus on teaching reading, writing, math and science. CRT is as racist as Jim Crow laws.
tindrummer · M
@StrictSouthernHOH Sounds good.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@StrictSouthernHOH What should history teachers do?
Eeyore122 · 36-40, F
@StrictSouthernHOH In other words, as long as they remain professional. You have clearly never worked in education.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
They prefer the confirmed lie that the election was stolen be taught to their kids along with the 6 January failed insurrection attempt is what a normal tourist visit looks like... and that it is appropriate to disrespect the police and the military while claiming to support them.
tindrummer · M
@Strictgram Guess I'm not as smart as you think I am. 🤓
Yes, planned insurrection by many on different levels - just wasn't successful so the excuses, deflections and whatabouts are running rampant
Strictgram · 70-79, C
@tindrummer Undisputed fact: There was NO planned or carried out insurrection. Maybe better check a dictionary before you issue your retraction.
tindrummer · M
@Strictgram It's not undisputed. I and 2/3 of the country dispute it.
I've got a Websters IF I think I need it while talking to you.
I am a conservative and I am proud to say that but I don't want history taught to future generations to be stilted right or left , Lets face it we have done good and we have done bad , but if we cant look at it constructively we are going to mess up again!
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
History is taught in schools. The fact that you know the history of Native Americans demonstrates that.

The issue with CRT is that it is being weaponized and forced on students in primary school and High school instead of College, and on top of this starting to show up in Corporate America, right wing people have had enough.

@SumKindaMunster Seems obvious to me - already explained it.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@tindrummer K, that's whatever it is you are talking about, for ya. 😂
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
It's a shame shitheads like you are using this to promote your own agenda. "The Right" doesn't care about history and its teaching, CRT is a social theory and frame of reference to look at history, it's not history itself.
tindrummer · M
@SumKindaMunster Again, who wants whose attention?
Eeyore122 · 36-40, F
@tindrummer It's not worth it.
spjennifer · 56-60, T
You've got it all wrong, the ONLY "Native Americans" are the children of those who came over on the Mayflower, the rest were just unruly tourists visiting! 🥴
Eeyore122 · 36-40, F
@spjennifer Jamestowne became the first permanent English settlement. That was pre-Mayflower!
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@Eeyore122 You are correct of course but Jamestown wasn't a very successful settling with most of the settlers dying of starvation within 6 months of arriving so that's why I didn't mention it.
Eeyore122 · 36-40, F
@spjennifer right, but they were there before Mayflower.
Budwick · 70-79, M
Fascinating - The title of this post -
Critical race theory
might lead you to believe that the post is about CRT.

In perfect Marxist style - there isn't a word of CRT in it.
redredred · M
Teach them what happens when you trust any government to provide for your security or safety. That’s the real object lesson in this sort of history.
if it disempowers authentic culture, the project is a success according to the fucking nazified new world odor (misspelling INTENDED!)...made in the good ol usa and followed now by other NWO places like that one and that one too and even THAT one over there....

its cultural imperialism on steroids and sometimes a bunch of rock and roll in Croatia sounds and feels so good, its soooooo hard to realize...

oh fuck it u know what I mean Drummer...;=(
They will thrive in spite of the right. They already know the outcome of whats going on. They know the ancestors, the earth mother, the four- leggeds will prevail.
REInvNJ · 61-69, M
I think that's just about it. We don't much talk about American influence in Latin America either.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
Humans are not native to the Americas.
Asians came here from a land bridge and Europeans sailed here.
Are you wondering if they're discriminating?
tindrummer · M
@MistyCee Yeah, that's part of my question.

@DeluxedEdition I love how you say things in a passive-aggressive smart alec tone :D.

God damn I tell ya Deluxe, when you post, I will be honest, I often think, "Oh boy this is gonna be good!"

"providing you with the fact that i do not gaf" oh my gyod I just found it funny :D

Watch out though, if this continues, Eeyore might "Wish to bring something to your understanding" or some corporatey sounding BS.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@CestManan people acting like a word is too insufferable to hear is so childish. What are we six? 🤨

If he tries to educate me anymore on how he is too fragile to interact with strangers online I’m blocking him😭
CestManan · 46-50, F
@DeluxedEdition Words are just words really.

I think people forget though that "r3tard" is usually taken out of context anyways. Well, a lot of words are really.

I believe the psychological interpretation of "r3tard" is someone who is driving alone in their own car AND wearing a mask.
