For anyone who complains about a worker not smiling at them

What does it matter? You bought your chips and your lotto tickets, you got what you came here for now leave. Tell you what pay me $10 and I'll do whatever you say for a hour. That's more than I make at this damn place anyway. You give me $10 and I'll smile all you want. If someone not smiling at you wrecks your day that badly you sir need to grow a pair. Chances are I'm too tired and too sober to deal with your ass and I don't need to take anything from you.

I used to think if a worker didn't smile,
gee can'tt they be kind ? But that's a very linear black and white way of thinking. The person didn't MEAN Anything by not smiling and are probably tired. I grew up thinking I was bad if I didn't people please everyone..that I needed to make THEM feel good. It was a twisted thing to be taught. I'm going to try to just BE. If someone doesn't smile it's OK. Thank you for the post
@Coralmist The worker may not be smiling due to social anxiety. Maybe they want to smile but they are a bundle of nerves.

@Coralmist I love working from home and part of the reason is-I don't have to fake smile n hug the one I don't even want to see. I am not anti social I just don't entertain everyone.

@Donotfolowme Yes..I'm tired of believing I need to always make others feel good above me. Like it's MY responsibility. Do I like laughing and making others smile, yes! But it became my only way of life, like I didn't deserve to just be. Well we are human and need to do what we feel FIRST.

@Coralmist absolutely! I am always myself. I say, act, react the way I truly feel. So many do not like me but guess what- I don't care. I wasn't born to impress people but to live my life.
Having said that, I have so many who genuinely wanna be with me so I hang out with them.

@Coralmist I think everybody is just different and the way people react in social situations depends on various factors and usually it’s nothing to do with YOU. It’s them. And that’s okay. Doesn’t mean they’re trying to be unfriendly. Like when i’m nervous? I actually smile at people more because i feel that’s a way to break the ice. But others find it super difficult to smile due to their anxiety.
@Coralmist You make me feel good just by you being you. Go figure.

@SW-User Exactly. If someone isn't smiling it has nothing to do if they're a kind person. Maybe they are in pain, maybe they just had a fight with their friend or mom, or many other things. It's not US if someone didn't smile. Like I need to realize I'm STILL someone people will accept if I don't please them all the time. 🐢🌻

@Coralmist I was raised in a place where it's all about respect, politeness and caring about the group over the individual. Lots of appearances to upkeep. Do your best, don't give up and to please everyone. Don't you dare bring dishonor and shame.

I know how you feel.

@Coralmist Exactly!! Nobody knows about strangers inner struggles, but we all have them. If someone is worth having in your life, they will accept you for YOU. The good days and the bad. You are so worth it. 🤗

@SW-User Yes..same. thanks for your empathy. I started to give up ME over time, just to feel accepted. I felt like a slave to others. Now I see so many ways that NOT pleasing people has nothing to do with if I'm good or bad. As humans it's more than ok to just be sometimes and not think what are they thinking of me? I'm glad I'm learning this. Thanks🌿⛄
