Who’s your favourite author?

SteelHands · 61-69, M
Back when I used to read before my eyesight made it hurt was more interested in the subject material than any specific author. High adventure fiction, psychiatry, political and social commentary theorys of philosophy, historical writings, technology examinations and dozens of other things to learn about without devoting myself to a single author's work. I've read a little of SSheldon, R Cook, S King, D Steel... and these were my least favorites. More than a few obscure ones.

Hard to choose. William Gibson wrote my favorite book, Neuromancer, and its sequels. Neil Gaiman wrote many other books I love. Then theres Lovecraft, Koontz, Kaye...

I don't do favorites. Last great book I read was Fifth Season by NK Jemisin.

@Allelse It's fantasy but not like... Tokein elves & magic fantasy. Set in a world which is subject to constant and severe seismic activity, and a small number of people who have power over that activity. It follows three women and is more broadly about stuff like power an oppression and the societies on this world.

I can't sum it up more compellingly than that but it's astonishingly well done.

In books about wicca author Scott Cunningham.. In satanism books Anton Lavey.. I only really read books about the occult I don't really read books about anything else..
I have plenty for various reasons. I like Neil Gaiman, the writing team of Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman, and one few people today seem to like but she's one of my favorites... Ayn Rand.
