Who’s your favourite author?

Back when I used to read before my eyesight made it hurt was more interested in the subject material than any specific author. High adventure fiction, psychiatry, political and social commentary theorys of philosophy, historical writings, technology examinations and dozens of other things to learn about without devoting myself to a single author's work. I've read a little of SSheldon, R Cook, S King, D Steel... and these were my least favorites. More than a few obscure ones.
