Have you ever been burned or scalded before?
A couple of months ago, I was taking a pizza out of the oven, and I didn't realize that the oven mitt I was using had a hole in it 😬.

When I was a kid I was standing next to a BBQ when someone walked behind me and I fell on it. Well, my hand stopped my fall and that got pretty badly burned.
Then a few years ago I had put a poptart in the toaster. It popped off course and a few minutes later I took it out. It burst in my hand causing a third degree burn blistering along the life line and when the blister popped it was a quite a deep burn. I had to call in sick for work that morning.
I should have gone to the ER but I knew the nurse that was on that morning and chose to do the first aide myself. Admitting what had happened to her would cause no end of embarrassement.

Over the years, too many times to keep thinking I'm smart.
My ex REALLY got burned on his hands. He was Home Alone and left an iron skillet with oil on a lit stove burner while he ate and passed out. The dog woke him in a frenzy of barking and he found the kitchen was on fire.
He grabbed the skillet and threw it through a glass storm door and the flaming oil splashed on both of his hands.
You do NOT want to do this.

@Mamapolo2016 Holy s**t that sounds like it was a very bad idea. Panic may cause you to do things like that.

Yes, I spilled boiling pasta water on my leg, I had a huge second degree burn on my thigh. The pain was terrible. Then after I'd had it bandaged at minor injuries, the dressing started sticking to the new skin so I pulled the dressing off with all the skin. Ow. The nurses were...nonchalant at best 🤷😬
