Sometimes it's safer on the street than in a shelter. The best thing would be to offer them a home.

I just leave them alone unless they are causing trouble. If they are disrupting my business, or others in my block, I will call the police. I never give them money. If they ask, I will go buy them food. Those around here will just go buy themselves alcohol, and I won't support that.

@DonaldTrumpet I'm not the leader of the free world. I'm just a good decent human being who wants to watch your funeral on TV.

Rehab
silentwriter180 · 51-55, F
Not all people who are homeless need rehab. There are people here who are homeless due to lack of money to pay their rents or expenses. They just aren't being paid enough to carry anything but food. Many are looking for second jobs which can be difficult when they don't have a home address. Luckily, one of our county supervisors has been good enough to allow those living in their vehicles to park in his office lot over night so long as they come after 7pm and leave by 7am. A friend of mine who lives in a motorhome parks there every night. And I know another who sleeps in his truck. He's having a hard time finding work as he is elderly. Neither of the drink ir do drugs, they can 't even afford to.

@silentwriter180 then those people wouldn’t refuse help now would they.?
silentwriter180 · 51-55, F
@gregloa And there are those here who do. And of course there are those who don't. I don't make assumptions. I know people on either side.
