How do You Feel About/Towards Yourself?

I'm self loathing, guilt-ridden, and ruled by shame. But I'm trying to unlearn it.

I do a fourth step every day. It's not all good , but it's not all bad. I am 80% amazing, and 20% pathetic. I'm pretty confident, extremely educated, articulate, talented and creative, but I am impulsive and hedonistic to a fault.

@Perspectivedetective I don't know what you're going through, but you deserve better. I hope you find your worth and make peace with yourself. I know it can't be easy to be a "T" especially if you're in an area where people are more uptight about that sort of thing. I don't mean to assume that is part of the problem, but it can't be a cakewalk.

@puck61 It definitely isn't a cakewalk for multiple reasons. Happily, however, I live in a pretty accepting place. Thank you. I really appreciate your well wishes. I'm working on making things better. Slowly.

I have days where I love myself and days where I hate myself. I’m always fighting against the internal thoughts of self loathing brought on by years of low self esteem, but over the past few years I’ve been more appreciative of who I am and all of my quirks

Shame is never the way as it is unloving. Negative emotions do not bring us further.

I look at myself and I see potential that I can't find anywhere else. I've seen past what's temporary and a waste of time, yet that's what it stays as, unused potential. No one believes in me and no one ever has. I don't even think I believe in myself to be quite frank, emotionally at least.

It's difficult to explain, but I can tell that it hurts.. a lot... but any attempt to change it seems hopeless.
