Does it seem young people give short answers whereas us older people give longer drawn out ones?

Heartlander · 80-89, M
Yea. Us old people use two hands at a big keyboard and a giant monitor. And we think THIS may be the very last thing we say, ever. So we try to stretch it and throw in our life history.

Young people probably use smartphones, type with one hand while doing something else and pick their comments from dropdown boxes. And since they are young probably figure they have a lifetime to say whatever else they want to say.
@Heartlander You’re not factoring in word rationing. Today newborns are provided a finite number of available words for life and they don’t want to use them all up before they die.
I’m pretty sure if you’re under 30, you get fined for messages of more than 140 characters.

my grandmother would straight up leave the room in the middle of a gathering or abruptly hang up the phone during a phone call - i asked her why and her answer: "you bore me and i don't have time to waste on bozos"
