Is the universe finite or infinite?

It has to be infinite, what would be on the other side?

Absolutely!

From the scientific point of view that's not really known, it's immensely immense but it's also probably finite, and there are other universes, not only our.
It's interesting.

Even if we can seem to reach it's limits yet, the current universe we are on looks like a galaxy inside a bigger universe. The pattern goes on and on.
How do I know that?

Finite. There is no such thing as infinity in nature. Infinity, and infinitesimals, are just imaginations.

@Glambarber Your question ("where does it end") is understandable, but unfortunately there is no simple answer. There is no end, but it's finite at the same time. A lot of intermediate steps have to be taken before the structure of the universe can be understood, at least in part. The whole notion of space and time (as we know it) has to be changed. Essentially, there is no pictorial approach. The answer is purely mathematical. That's the sad truth.

No one actually knows , and what good would it do mankind if we did know

Finite, but very, very, VERY big!

That's not known.

Infinite it seems. We aren't fully sure, but the science and math shows it likely is.
