I like mockingbirds, house finches and cardinals for their songs. Parakeets for their language ability and clever uses of it and roadrunners because they are helping eat snakes and scorpions and the way they stop and look when I see them while driving b
Past them... they stop and look at the car

@cherokeepatti I love cardinals. The males are so pretty.
I like house and purple finches. I have a little trouble telling them apart, sometimes.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@ProfessorPlum77 the house finches are really pretty. I used to have a pole bird feeder and kept sunflower seeds in it and had a lot of house finches here. Sometimes I hear them in the neighborhood, someone must be feeding them for them to come around.

windinhishair · 61-69, M
I have several favorites. I love the common loon for its haunting tremolos and wails on cool, clean northern lakes. I love the canyon wren for its lyrical call in the wilderness canyons of the desert southwest.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@windinhishair My dad said a loon chased him and my mom on their honeymoon. I think they were in a boat.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@ProfessorPlum77 They were probably defending nearby young. They will do that if they believe their young are threatened.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@windinhishair They probably got too close to a nest.
I agree with you. I like hearing the call of a loon.
Jungleman · M
seagulls and crows are my favourite.
Magenta · F
Always been fond of owls.
Man!
Too many to mention.
I think I just like nature in general .
I'll watch everything from bees, busily collecting pollen....to just listening to different birds chatter to one another that I can't see.

I'll even stop just to stare at bark patterns and dew droplets on the grass.

Its all beautiful to me .
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
Bald eagle. They are astonishing in real life. I also like ospreys.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP

likesnatural · 70-79, M
Mountain bluebird for color and turkey vultures for soaring.

@likesnatural A mountain bluebird sounds pretty.

Albatross
Crows
Owls
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@BananaBrown I don't know if I have ever seen an albatross, in person. ("Water, water, everywhere. Nor any drop to drink.")
Crows and owls are bitter enemies.
BananaBrown · 41-45, F
And I’m the one that loves them both. Go figure ;)@ProfessorPlum77
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@BananaBrown What a conundrum! 🤔
