I like mockingbirds, house finches and cardinals for their songs. Parakeets for their language ability and clever uses of it and roadrunners because they are helping eat snakes and scorpions and the way they stop and look when I see them while driving b Past them... they stop and look at the car
@ProfessorPlum77 the house finches are really pretty. I used to have a pole bird feeder and kept sunflower seeds in it and had a lot of house finches here. Sometimes I hear them in the neighborhood, someone must be feeding them for them to come around.
I have several favorites. I love the common loon for its haunting tremolos and wails on cool, clean northern lakes. I love the canyon wren for its lyrical call in the wilderness canyons of the desert southwest.
Man! Too many to mention. I think I just like nature in general . I'll watch everything from bees, busily collecting pollen....to just listening to different birds chatter to one another that I can't see.
I'll even stop just to stare at bark patterns and dew droplets on the grass.
@BananaBrown I don't know if I have ever seen an albatross, in person. ("Water, water, everywhere. Nor any drop to drink.") Crows and owls are bitter enemies.
