@Blodyn No I haven't been in the Armed Forces I was going to join the Territorial Army only my Boss became difficult I liked my job so that was that my late Father was in the Army nearly 10 years I have his medals to wear Sunday at the Cenotaph they're all cleaned up ready for the occasion

My grandfather was operating searchlights in London night after night in the Blitz. And then in Africa and Italy. But he had no medals. @senghenydd

@Blodyn That's strange he wasn't the only one I understand the Merchant Navy were never given any medals either when you think how many ships were sunk their lives were on the line anyway let's hope we never have to face another war like the two world wars of the twentieth century, talking about another subject I came across an old photograph of Ystradgynlais Railway Station taken in the 1950s what a terrible old Station I just tried to find it but failed I'll no doubt find it sometime in the future and post it on SW

Thank you for replying. And I would like it if there were no more wars. I know we can’t always get on well together. Me and my sisters, I mean my sisters and I, squabble a lot but we love each other. Wouldn’t it be nice if countries were like that! And Ystradgynlais is near by where I Iive. I know it had a railway because it’s in the Swansea Valley. And at half term I went to Craig y Nos where Adelina Patti lived and in the museum was a photo of Craig y Nos station and in the siding was Adelina Patti’s private railway carriage she used to take her to sing in London!
So nice talking to you Senghenydd. @senghenydd

@Blodyn Hello Blodyn I have found Ystradgynlais Railway Station it doesn't look much as railway stations go I would of thought Ystradgynlais would of had a better Railway Station than the one I have in the picture.Blodyn there is writing across the photograph as it's currently for sale on E-bay

It must have been quite importamt! It has two platforms! We still have a train in Pontarddulais. But it’s just one platform! @senghenydd
