My great uncle died at Ypres, ive been to Belgium, his name's amongst the lost on the Menin Gate, he left a wife and seven children.

@senghenydd as a child I heard stories of how family and neighbours had to help raise his children, no social benefits then, hard times. Visiting Ypres the gate and the other memorial sites, including German burial sites is an harrowing experience, there's nothing good about war!

@SW-User No there's certainly nothing good about war all we can do is respect the anniversary 11th November each year I have my late Fathers' medals which I've cleaned up and will be at the Cenotaph

I'm still researching my own family involvement, both during, and after (with rehab). Amazing generation.
