I Am Worried About My Health

I have a 1/4" cyst in the left side of my brain, I have juvenile osteoporosis which has resulted in 7 badly compressed vertebrae and severe kaiphosis. Canada's "free" health care was happy to diagnose but there is no coverage for any of my prescriptions. The cheapest apartments cost me my entire income so not only do I suffer pain and mobility problems but I can barely afford to eat at all, let alone utilize a bone "savvy" diet. I had such a terrible migraine all night because my spine got overworked the last few days. I have no helpers and cannot afford any.

You do know that pharmaceutical companies offer drug assistance plans if you can not afford your medications.

@MarmeeMarch I cannot travel, I cannot even ride the buses in the city. The ambulance has to put me on a backboard with neck brace every time they take me to the hospital for anything.

I read your paragraph with a certain degree of horror. Canadas socialized healthcare is held out to us as one of the examples of how socialized medicine can work in the United States.

I can not tell you how much I sympathize with you. It is so difficult to know what to say when your situation is so dire. I hope and pray there is some member of your government to whom you can write and ask for help.

All strains are medical in Canada. I can get one very potent strain that will replace 3 medications 2 of which are not about pain.

@Anonymartyr the legalization of recreational marijuana in Canada so far has no effect on prescriptions for medicinal. Rightfully it's being considered very separate from each other.

@Salix75 I cannot use the strains for only painkilling because they relax the muscles too much and besides that is not high enough in CB2 which helps balance bone loss/growth ratio. In any case The Canibis Clinic will inform me if there ever is any coverage for applicable marijuana.

@SW-User Thanks,but this is irreversible. It can stay this way for the rest of my life or continue getting worse. Marijuana containing high levels of CB2 may help balance bone loss/bone growth ratio but the price is far beyond my ability to pay and they don't cover it as medication- I keep in touch with the Canibis Clinic here invhopes there will be assistance or coverage.

its universal health care in Canada they have to cover your prescriptions by law!!! no government housing???? no low rent apartments there?? the doctors not removing the cyst??

@trackboy They do not cover all medications. They cover doctor and hospital visits and some prescriptions.

@trackboy They only cover GENERIC medications and in my case there isn't any.

@SStarfish They used the medical benefits as the argument fot marijuana, which would be of great benefit. My Nurse Practitioner wrote me a referral foe the marijuana clinic too. But now that legalization is a sure thing they plan on shutting down private dispensaries for a government monopoly and selling it at street price in stores like the liquor stores here in Canada.

@Platoscave The system here in Ontario assumes that I can find someone to live common-law with. I can only get one or two bags of groceries from food banks each month and I have to pick up roaches off the street to get pot for pain medication and it is rare to find enough for any single day.
The people of the world already destroyed themselves during the Industrial Revolution and there is no turning back and no solution for the consequences. Things must play out as they are.

Can u apply for aid in your rent? In America one can apply for rental aid from certain agencies. (typically depending on income).... that could help you save a bit/use it for the prescriptions
