Do you find it controversial to be required to wear a mask?

Carla · 61-69, F
Not in the least.
What I find controversial is that the no mask wearing idiots believe they have the right to freely infect me.
@MrBrownstone Because COVID-45 wasn’t around last year, dipshit.
@Jimmy2016 The point is to reduce transmission. It’s impossible to eliminate it completely, thanks to arrogant fuckheads like you who think this disease is a political statement.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Jimmy2016 masks aren’t a guarantee. No one has said that. Masks slows the spread. It has been proven in many studies.

Some societies, like Japan, have been wearing masks for over 10 years.

Why are you so sensitive about something quite simple?

Are you simple minded? Or perhaps afraid of the truth?

Please tell us.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
No I care about humanity and don’t care about whether or not people think they are entitled to not wear one.
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@Dshhh Definitely the truth
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@Keepitsimple I was watching Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and he had a tape of a session in Palm Beach Fla where some residents told their council that they have no right to make them wear a mask. There are too many idiotic people out there who think this is still a hoax
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
See people like that need fo report to stupid island. There’s no talking fo people like that. They have no common sense. @ReneeT
@luckranger71 That tickles me. 😅
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard A good descriptor for what the followers of St. Trump are seeking.
chrisCA · M
@luckranger71 Fuck yeah!
JeanAnna · F
No, if wearing a mask will prevent someone from catching this virus, then I'll wear my mask as long as it's necessary. If everyone wore a mask, we wouldn't be in this mess.

We, by law, have to wear a seat belt, we can't smoke in public places, so wearing a mask is just a little thing that some morons think is infringing on their rights. I guess they would rather wear a ventilator than a mask, you think?
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@jackjjackson just like a mask in public
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Only makes sense. @JeanAnna

We aren't required to yet, but it could end up that way and i'd do whatever was required to help prevent it's spread.
MrSmooTh · 31-35, M
I really wouldn't if it was like AIDS or malaria that was being spread around. But more people are dying from the common cold than from this shit.
MrSmooTh · 31-35, M
@PhoenixPhail I don't care anymore. It's less than a percentage point of the population of the entire world. It's not enough to scare me. Call me when the black plague returns.
CuriousCuckold · 61-69, M
@MrSmooTh We know you are not scared tough guy. But if you wore a mask you might not infect someone else.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@texasdaddydom Seasonal Flu kills every year year than Covid has in total...

Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
I wear mine all the time...

It’s the Darwinism in me
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
No but when I see a person alone in their car or riding a bike down the street wearing a mask, I think it's gone a bit far.

In a crowd around others, sure wear it.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@jackjjackson Wearing a mask? Seems kind of useless if you are having sex, but I bet someone has done it.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
The right masks could be a turn on. @FreeSpirit1
Lol, I've driven with mine on but only because I'll most likely be getting out of the car soon and just didn't want to forget to place it on again.@FreeSpirit1
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
No, and I honestly don't know anyone in my real life world who thinks twice about it either.
Not at all. It’s the least I can do and the least we all can do to stem the tide of the virus
SW-User
No people need to get over it already ,just accept it and move on
@MrBrownstone So you will be voting for Biden because he’s pro choice?
ReneeT · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone So your body your choice doesn't give a damn about anyone you may get the virus from and who you pass it on to? That has nothing to do with against abortions.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@ReneeT Abortions affects 2 families
HannahSky · F
It's about health.
AbbySvenz · F
What controversy? The current science indicates masks slow down the spread of this highly-contagious, spread-while-asymptomatic virus.

Don’t be a dick, and don’t risk infecting those around you while in public. Why is that so difficult?
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Not at all.
CuriousCuckold · 61-69, M
Wearing a mask is a health issue. It is only controversial for idiots who feel the need to turn mask wearing into a human rights issue. It is as stupid and pointless as the smoking in public places debate of the 90's.
No more controversial than living through a pandemic.
Virologists don’t wear masks. They do however wear:
[image deleted]Masks don’t do much. I wear them only cuz the law says I should

ChiyoSKL · 31-35, F
I just hate that when I was rushing my son into the gas station to pee during a road trip a lady behind me said people like that need to be shot. Like sorry I didn't think to put it on when my son had to rush and pee. People are too crazy on both sides of the fence like usual.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@ChiyoSKL Fortunately where I am. People are respectful what ever you choose.
ChiyoSKL · 31-35, F
@MrBrownstone it was on a road trip. Its hard enough to get a child with asthma and glasses to wear it in the first place and then to try and get it on when he waited too late to tell me he had to pee. Just ugh.
Viper · M
Not if it's being enforced equally and fairly.

That's more than we can say about nipples, as that enforcement has been largely sexist, as both men and women used to be forced to wear tops, even at the beach, then men got the freedom and women did not.
#FreetheNipple, eh?@Viper
Viper · M
@AnonymouslyYours I think that's what would be preferred. Of course, you could also make it equal by locking them all up, and not just one sex's.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Only the weak minded find it controversial
ReneeT · 61-69, M
Not in the least
Yes. There are many things I would not like if we were required to wear them (we aren't, here). The science on how effective they are has been unclear (though it does seem to be getting clearer). They focus you on coronavirus all the time that you're wearing them. They are uncomfortable. They make communicating with people harder -- and communicating with people is crucial to our emotional/mental health. Also, disposal masks are already becoming a serious environmental problem. Coronavirus isn't everything.

(fyi I am currently wearing a cloth mask or bandanna when I am in a place where it's required, or where people are crowded, but not just out on the street)
mindstruggle · 31-35, F
Not at all.
Being told by the ‘my body my choice’ crowd that I have to wear a mask and be vaccinated is very .... funny 😏
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout And if they do say it,they are sexist
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Everyone should wear a mask. States where it is a crime not to and the law is enforced are doing the right thing.
SW-User
No it's for our own good
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
yep, I think it pretty silly for anyone to think that a flimsy piece of cloth will stop a virus that can cling to and survive on just about any surface for weeks... 🤔

probably about as effective as a condom made out of tissue paper...
chrisCA · M
No. I don't normally wear one in public, but I did in a barbershop, and a church because it was required.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
There is nothing political about life and death. Don’t make masks about anything other than that.
Not that I’ve heard. Just here. It’s normal to complain about something one isn’t thrilled about doing.
wackidywack · 22-25
Asians do it all the time. It's more or less normal
33person · 26-30, M
If the mask were to protect me from others, it would be extremely controversial and an infringement on my freedom. But the mask is to protect others from me, so if I were not required, that would put others around me at risk. Therefore, I find it more controversial to allow people to choose for themselves.
RopinTexan · 31-35, M
I didn’t at first. I wore it for the sake of my own and others’ health. But when the government got involved and made it political, that’s when I started getting annoyed.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@RopinTexan so then now that you’re making it political, you object?
RopinTexan · 31-35, M
@JoeyFoxx I’m not making it political; the government is. I don’t object outright, but I have the urge to do so. I value life over politics, but if not wearing a mask was not life threatening to some people, I would absolutely stop wearing it.

I believe people should do the right thing out of their own free will, not because the government forces them to.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@RopinTexan we need to stop being dependent on the government to determine what is the right thing to do.

I don’t give a fuck what the President or any Governor says. Wearing a mask in public places is the right thing to do because science supports it.

For those that are too dumb to understand that, we need requirements.
JeanAnna · F
@curiosi They do work, and those businesses have had to close because some morons refuse to wear them, and the disease keeps spreading.
I thought it was because of the people running wild on the streets. 🤨 @JeanAnna
curiosi · 61-69, F
@Spoiledbrat Apparently riots don't spread the virus, only working, recreation things like that.

Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔....Cloth, disposable and N95 Masks don't stop the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus but if it makes everyone happy, I'll wear a mask.....
AbbySvenz · F
They aren’t intended to stop it, and stopping it is not the goal— slowing its spread is the aim @Jimmy2016
REMsleep · 41-45, F
No, but for many people freedom is synonymous with being American so for the government to require you to wear a particular item in order to leave your house feels quite totalitarian.

This feeling is magnified for those who think that the effects of COVID are greatly exaggerated.
@REMsleep
freedom is synonymous with being American
That is so ironic. 😏
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Is mask wearing required during sex?
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
@jackjjackson Nah they only prefer condoms over their heads
CuriousCuckold · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson That may depend on who you are having sex with.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
It could be a full head mask on HER. @FreestyleArt @CuriousCuckold
Chelsiegirl · 46-50, T
Im fine with it..
