Where would you begin If you could start it ALL over?

How would you change keeping hold of what you have learned?

But I would like to go back in time when my hub and I first met and tweak things a bit.

@SW-User I love how you think!

Being a man who has grown up to be a father omce a husband. I would go back to the single most event that shaped my life. When I was 8 years old I met my real father only for 30 seconds. My mother did not tell me the truth until I was 14. I thought about that man every day I could remember his smell I can tell you every detail. I knew he was something special someone significant but my mother chose to lie. They are so many mistakes that I made in my life so many questions that I have so many parts of me that are empty and broken because I never got the opportunity to have the truth. I have struggled so many times to forgive my mother for that lie. If I could go back to that moment I would have asked for a picture I would have hugged him. I would have kissed him on the cheek. I would have thanked him for coming to see me making me feel important and valuable. I would have told him that no matter what I will never forget that moment I would have also asked him for something to keep of his. Even today as a grown man it breaks my heart it almost makes me cry to know that I did not have something so basic.

I want those I love who are in heaven back.

@RainbowSprinkles Your comment reminds me of the time when my Father passed. Daddy Loved the LORD! And tried so many times to Get his brothers to see what they were missing.
His youngest brother was ill and Daddy visited him often at the hospital to tell him again how 'Eternity would be empty without him. Both Daddy and Uncle Joe were in the same hospital. It was there that Daddy took his last breath. I spoke a silent prayer. I asked the Lord to grant me one more conversation with my Daddy. My wish granted I had that night a dream. I was arguing with my Dad. Angry that he left us, hurt that I wasn't able to say Good-Bye
Hurt that of all his efforts to help his brother to "FIND THE LORD" all went to waste.
I Spoke a silent prayer of my own. To speak one more time to my Dad.
In the darkness of night the dream came to me, And I spoke out first. Saddened because of my own loss and too that of my Mothers. Unknown at that time, I would soon loose my Mother. It was short, his message however the words spoke out in volume.
His words...Carla what you canot understand is that I was the only one that was able to Bring my brother home.

I am A strong Woman who has had many hardships. AND YES...the pain of loss has brought me to my knees many times. I do not like being alone; Yet I don't want to be a care giver to some bloke telling me to go "fetch" whenever he needs another refill to his glass! Still I wonder and yearn to seek "What Could have been, or what might have been, had I been stronger."

No tattoos, no drugs, no alcohol, if I could start all over again. I no longer do drugs or alcohol, been 30+ yrs. But I'm still stuck with these two stupid tattoos.
I have started over so many times busting my chops during my 60 years...lets say I am tired and just want to relax.

I doubt nothing could have changed if I weren't where I am today. And yet, holding on to what memories that remain, I feel I could make the change and take it to where it should be.
frequentlyme · 70-79, M
I've always felt where I am is a product of what I've done and learned. Since I'm happy with where I am, I'd likely start over right where I am, and see where it lead.
i would just like to go back and re-live certain parts of my life. the really good parts. LOL
