Is it normal for a 15 year old girl to not clean up?

My 15 year old sister is extremely lazy, I've never really seen her clean unless you force her to. My mom even cleans her room for her and washes her clothes. Is this normal?

It's actually very normal for both genders. Teenagers tend to be lazy. That's how it is lol. I can attest for girls, and yes, it's common.

@tunechi true lol. They expect boys bedrooms to be more messy so they're more lenient with it. But I know for a fact that, if there's any option at all, the majority of fifteen year olds will have a messy room rather than cleaning it lol

Normal for clothes, not so much for her room. Teenagers are lazy.
Yes teens are lazy as hell unless you make them do stuff
AmmieBell · 18-21, F
Yep. Very normal lol. My friend group especially, my friends always seemed to have messy rooms. I'd get a call about how a sleepover was cancelled because they hadn't cleaned their room, or they'd start out with "my room is super messy. Just so you know".

@AmmieBell My mom doesn't even give her chorus, she do as she please it's sad really.
AmmieBell · 18-21, F
@Angeliclove I mean yeah it sucks for now, but now is just temporary. I feel bad for your sister really. Your mom isn't teaching her the skills she needs, like keeping up with work or cleaning responsibly, and your sister will be struggling to swim when she enters the real world. So really it will hurt her in the end, more than anyone else. So she'll learn eventually

@AmmieBell I know, I grew up with my aunt and she always made me do chores and she was a very clean person. So I learned from her my mom on the other hand doesn't really like to clean so therefore she doesn't teach my sister how to. Even her hygiene is off sometimes.

Yes. I have twin sisters who have to be forced to do chores (though they're sixteen, not fifteen. Close though). And my godsister who is almost fifteen is the same way.

Maybe for some.
My girlfriend's daughter keeps her room clean, and tidy.
She also does her own laundry.

A good spanking will solve it for quite awhile
AmmieBell · 18-21, F
@MasterLee idk, my mom tried that before and it lasted about a day. 🤣
AmmieBell · 18-21, F
But I guess our rooms are always clean now. So maybe it did work in the end. Huh. The more you know lol.

It's normal for any 15 y/o to not clean up.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
If my daughter is any guide, it’s totally normal.
updown2020 · 61-69, M
Did you keep your room clean at 15?

Clothes is normal
This is what happens when moms indulge too much on their daughters. My niece is the same way and her boyfriend broke up with her because of it. Responsibility needs to be taught early on or they will become slobs.
MattMony · 22-25, M
Apperantly. My little sisters won't do anything. Let me know if you find a way to get teenage girls to cooperate on that 🙄 They wait until my mom's on the verge of punishing them to actually start
updown2020 · 61-69, M
This is wrong what’s why she does not clean up because your mom babies her . This your moms fault.
I'm also very lazy at 27. I need more motivation.
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
It is for guys, not so much for girls.
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
How is her hygiene?
FurryFace · 61-69, M
for guys yes for girls no
plungesponge · 41-45, M
Is she a dude?
Angeliclove · 26-30, F
@plungesponge Lol no, a girl
