How Do You Eliminate Your Ego?

anotherplanet · F Best Comment
Careful with this - I know a few people that got all weird when they tried this. Became obsessed, and ended up in something like a paradoxical mission to eliminate their ego with their ego. You can never truly eliminate or get rid of such a thing. The best you can do is to change your values, virtues and to be aware of which thoughts/emotional responses come from a genuine place within you, or from a place of self perception/image. Ego is fine. Just become aware. Watch it, don’t interfere. Be above it. Like in a mountain watching the storm from a. Distance. Don’t worry about it. Worry about the other little things that matter.

Recently learned how to, and the use of, letting feelings, impulses pass like the season. Know that you are not your ego, impulses, or feelings, they are just things you perceive and experience.

Check out academy of ideas on YouTube, they will provide you with much spiritual, philosophical and thoughtful ideas of the greatest minds in history, as well as their own conclusions. It will help you, and guide you through this difficult time, and the current journey/process which you undertake now. You are at an important stage in yourself and your journey. Don’t give up or into easy distractions! They are everywhere to be found! Keep looking for your own answers my friend and fellow human! Depth and Individuation are beautiful things, and once discovered, they are easily found again, should you lose track of them at any point! Even if it might seem impossible at times!
It is hard work to undertake the task of self change, love, compassion, and self development! Do the hard work! Not enough people undertake this task anymore, and instead loose themselves in consumerism lifestyle, so I cheer you on with sincere enthusiasm and encouragement for you!!

With much love, and heartfelt sincerity,

An ego is just part of your makeup... an over inflated one is another matter altogether! 😁

I don't think I should. Just respect the other person's. If nastiness develops, just walk away.

Why would you do that?

@Immia I don't know, I just don't like who I am right now and I want to change. Life is too comfortable and is becoming stagnant and boring to me. Classes and work and taking care of other people, but I want to do something useful with my life right now like protect our country or save lives. Right now I'm doing nothing but spending money on classes I'll never use for my profession.
EGO!.. is not a dirty word..
