Or should I just leave that part out? I am not concerned about supervisor/management knowing I'm looking for work outside the department. At least I'm tying to stay with the company
@iamnikki Its just polite to ask someone before quoting them as a referee.. But for an internal position its sort of expected they will ask them about you anyway.
Applying for another position within the same company may single everyone there that you are looking for a better job, period, and while you are applying within, you also may be applying elsewhere. And that may raise question about your long term loyalty.
But, if your experience there has so far been positive, you are already a family member and that can help you stand out above other applicants. If it's a quick fill position and/or early in the process, the combination could make you a shoe-in.
So ... mention your time there as a positive in a sensitive way and go for it.
@Heartlander I kid you not, the supervisor said she didn't feel like coming to work today so she gets 100 percent why I'm trying to leave (haven't told her though)..I've been here 6 months and 5 people have transferred or quit. Our department only had 11 people ...
@iamnikki Yeah. It's less that you have to say I AM A CURRENT EMPLOYEE but more that you should just talk about what you're coming from to pitch yourself for the job. GOOD LUCK!
