Why is Middle America so addicted to opiates?

Its an epidemic that is sweeping the nation. Heroin and other drugs have creeped its way into my hometown and every small town in America. There are a lot to blame for this, such as our economy, big pharma, demographics, unemployment...and more. Its sad really, and until people unite as a nation (which is most unlikely, but plausible) it will continue to happen. It's hitting very close to home all over the country. Its not just in the streets anymore but in homes across America.

With a prescription, they're legal and relatively accessible. They have become so widespread in fact, that heroin dealer have plunged their own prices in order to keep selling. It has led to a terrible drug epidemic in many places. I've seen a number of people die from it recently.

You can thank Big Pharma for that who told doctors that opioids weren't addictive. And the dumbass doctors believed them.

I think it's a sign of the times. People are so unhappy with how the world is going, many can't afford their most basic needs so they are "medicating" to numb it all out.🥀

The question is.. what's right with this country? Not much I tell ya

WTH is Middle America?

WV is one of the poorest states in America. And they are a state that heavily supported Trump. Lets see if Trump helps them or NOT.

It's an Addiction. Just like any other addiction. You want to rattle and name off. Sex addiction, Porn addiction, Alcoholism, Cheating, Lieing, Stealing, etc.

Three of my Cousins and my Aunt are both using drugs and also lie and steal. To get what they want. And every one of them either have friends that also use or know where to get everything. It's very sad. Me and my parents, have all tried to help them. Especially since one of my Cousins has two little kid's living with her. But you can't help someone that doesn't want the help or that hasn't hit there final rock bottom yet and at that place in there lives now. Where they are basically crying out for help, and will finally accept your help. Before it's too late with either Death or in Prison.

I think it's due in part to the crackdown on meth. Now it's heroin and pills. Bad scene that's only going to get worse if the GOP gets its way with the budget.
