What are some of your self care practices?

I run for my mental health.
I try to eat healthy (though my own cooking is lousy.)
I try strength training (hate it) for my physical health.
I talk to people and read positive things.

Working out 5 days a week does a lot for me. Plus eating healthy, drinking lots of water. When my mood takes a dive, I listen to my mix on youtube and do some work. Synthwave ftw lol

Long hot shower.

Collect things that make you laugh and then return to them when you feel down. Be it pictures, gifs, videos, book quotes, sound recordings, whatever...

@InOtterWords my sis in law is a counselor and we talk often. It helps. I'm not open in real life so when people grill me it more irritates me. I'm breastfeeding and refuse to even risk taking tylonol right now
@Soramarie understandable. You know when you are feeding your baby every good thing in your body is going to make food for him/her. It is no wonder you feel low. You are tired. So try not to feel guilty. I would have been the same if I was breast feeding.

So.etimes it is easier to open up to a stranger, you can say what you like and they are trained to help you open up.

Maybe ask family to look after the baby for a few hours on a regular basis to give yourself some time for you
