What comes to your mind when you think of: India? 🇮🇳

Over the years i've had many friends from India. Either through work or folk i've shared houses with.

Food has been shared.

Family events attended.

The marriage of my friend to his family's chosen bride is a memory that will live with me forever.
Not just because of all the worry my friend went through prior to even seeing let alone meeting his wife to be ! But the fact that EVERYONE at the wedding made me feel so welcome to be a part of it. And the fact it was so colourful. So joyful. Don't think i've ever seen or tasted so much food !

Test matches between England and India have been watched and seen battle lines drawn and much arguing/laughter/respect for each others players follows.
But Sachin is no Botham.....😜

I have sat and watched a few Bollywood movies and even bought a copy of Zakhm which must be a few years old now.
But i liked the lack of sentimentality in it. I found it quite interesting in terms of understanding that Indian folk worry about the same stuff we English folk do.

@Picklebobble2 that's lovely - hehe well i have heard of Ian Botham but unfortunately he was before my time so I've never had the pleasure of watching him play live ^^

@SW-User If more people were honest about the stuff that worries them rather than all the bravado bullsh*t the current crop of politicians and media folk throw at us 24/7, we'd probably discover we have far more things that unite us. No matter where we are in the world !

@Fran63 I know what the word "donor" means, but I would never have guessed that was what you meant. For one thing, I was mentally pronouncing it "Donna" as in the woman's name. Also, I can't say I've seen the phrase "donor car" before either. It's not a phrase people use in general conversation.

@Fran63 I don't know where or when those are held. My uncle John might know. If I ever hear him say that phrase it'll be the first time I've heard it spoken.

@SW-User Is that so? The first time I ever heard of Bollywood, the first thing I did was guess how many elephants they had. My guess was 1,311. I just wondered if I was right or not, that's all.

Yet your constant reminders of others diction tends to get on others "case". Yes a slang. Yet it is best fitting.
