So it's possible to die from a "broken heart".

It's called Broken Heart Syndrome. And happens often to the long term partners of those who have died. Case in point Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher. Well, they were mother and daughter but it's an example.
I've heard of wives/husbands dying within days of each other, now this occurrence or syndrome has a name.

I had two maiden aunts when I was growing up. Born in India under the Raj their mother died young and they were sent back home to England with an allowance from their father where they more or less had to finish growing up themselves. Fast forward after 80 years of living together with neither ever having been married one of them died... and before we could even bury her her sister went to join her. As in life so it was in death. Still together and still each other's everything.

I have worked in aged care and have seen this. Its kind of sweet in a way.

@Thevy29 Agreed.
I had that, but clearly I didn't die. It manifests as a heart attack in all ways except a catheterization shows no blockage. There is heart damage but over 80% of the time, the heart heals over 6-8 weeks and you have no more likelihood of further heart problems than you did before.

@Mamapolo2016 I don't think you understand my post.
@Cavedweller Maybe not - but what I had is called the broken heart syndrome or Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

Sorry if I was mistaken.

Oh yes, I really do believe that. 💔
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@LyricalOne me too.
The surviving person's will to live dies with the other. It is heartbreaking yet beautiful.

Yes, grief can take a serious and sometimes deadly toll on a person
Yes. I believe that.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Yes, there is such a thing, but it isn't associated with cocaine use!
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@samueltyler2 Fair enough but do you think it's possible? Broken Heart Syndrome?
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@samueltyler2 Actually not fair enough. I stand by my post, toxicology reports aside.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Possible, but not what the media reported.
I perhaps didn't give enough detail - that happened after my husband, my mother, and my brother died in a short period of time.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@Mamapolo2016 That's awful. I'm sorry you've lost so many loved ones.
@Cavedweller Well, thank you, but I'm better now. It is believed the broken heart syndrome is triggered by a traumatic shock - death of loved ones, financial disaster or a natural disaster like floods, fires, earthquakes. So what you posted is accurate.

Sure...when a young person dies from that, it's sad..however, in old age it's not!
NiftyWhite · 46-50, F
is it real or just coincidence. idk.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@NiftyWhite I believe it's real.
I absolutely believe that.
