What did you dream about last night?

I slept long and deeply. Had dreams of a journey to New York City. I was traveling to meet with publishers. I took a train, ate at a rooftop cafe and slept there in my seat. I could see the city in the distance, down a steep embankment. Finally arrived, but I was in the future, where artificial consciousness had replaced mankind. I was this relic walking around. All the shops were closed, preserved, like museum exhibits.

Sounds like a fear of missing your chance 🤔
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
@DanielChristensen oh yes. If I focus on lucid dreaming before I go to sleep, I usually can with no problem. I lose control off and on throughout the dreams though.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@dumpstermeow My cousin told me he would record audio tapes of him speaking, to create lucid dreams where he could explore the homes of potential victims for burglaries. Sounded like horseshit to me, but who knows
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
@DanielChristensen I don't think your unconscious mind can see into another person's home unless you've been there before.

the weirdest dream i have ever dreamt was this one: I was dreaming I was doing my morning routine before work(shower, breakfast, etc) which usually takes me about an hour.

Then I woke up an hour late - frustrated that I had to 'redo' my morning routine, lololol! woa! frigging weird and threw me off balance on how realistic it was and not knowing it was a dream until I woke up. So I woke up late, which means that it's no surprise I felt frustrated and confused since my dream lasted the amount of time it usually takes me for my routine...
hmm ok. I understand what you are saying.

But i must say that is wasn't 'created' by me. I have had supernatural experiences since i was about 19, so in my situation, i can sometimes say it's that (for example if it happens when I am wide awake, other times, it's a dream.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@thinkbigaboutlife That's interesting, but doesn't sound enjoyable
lol. yeah, you're right.
Some1Else · M
Have you a repeatable location in your dreams?

I have (although it's always structured differently) a huge multistorey lakeside home with windowed rooms always overlooking the elaborate swimming pool.

I always get there by a lake edge walkway that winds through trees first.

I always want to speak to the swimmer in the pool, but rarely do I get there. Drama or action occurs inside.

Sometimes lucid, knowing the place, the people, but....
WTH!? Why repeatedly?
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Some1Else That's interesting. Lots of detal.

I very often have repeated themes with small variations. Probably because I often recall some of my dreams with at least a bit of detail, that I notice the patterns.
Some1Else · M
@DanielChristensen there's I guess an unnamed "desired person" in the dreams (the one in the pool I cannot get to) someone to speak to
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Some1Else For years I would dream of my ex girlfriend in such a way. Driving down streets with no road signs, searching. Walking halls, hearing her behind some door, I don't know which, all locked
SW-User
I was brutally murdering someone.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M

Ever dream of flying or floating above the ground, moving effortlessly

Just like your naked or barely dressed, everyone ignores
No one ever notices...
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Some1Else Absolutely it was an amazing dream. Sometimes I don't ever want to wake. Dreams are so mysterious. They say there is a lot of symbolism. I've had a lifetime experiencing science fiction and am a writer.
Some1Else · M
@DanielChristensen Same... Except no discipline to write.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Some1Else I wrote a quasi fiction story recently and posted it after my electronic copyright came through. It was a wonderful experience, to be so focused and full of inspiration, for such a long period. Now that it is done, I feel sort of blah, like, what's next
Cannelle · 26-30, F
Rabbits. Twice. One where I was bit by a rabbit and another where I was at a pet store and one slept near me. It's my 7th rabbit dream this year.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Cannelle Hm I wonder what rabbits represent. They multiply fruitfully, are cute.
Cannelle · 26-30, F
According to various websites they represent Luck, success and magical power. Also, abundance, warmth and, of course, fertility.@DanielChristensen
Some1Else · M
@Cannelle Perhaps it's time to drop "Papillon" and put "Leporidae"?
Some1Else · M
That would make a great short story Daniel!
Details, character development, and a plausible reason for the mystery...

Kinda it's Rip Van Winkle meets Electronic Overlord
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Some1Else That does sound like a cool idea. I wrote my first story in a while recently. I've had lots of these science fiction type dreams, but when I sit down to flush it out, I tend to get lost.
Some1Else · M
@DanielChristensen load a voice memo app on you phone or text speak
Peaches · F
What a wonderful dream.😌Wish I could have been up on that rooftop cafe with you. Maybe life is artificial, nothing seems to last...
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Peaches The dreamt felt anxious and lonely. I was in a hurry to make my way there, then I arrive and there are no people left. The cafe part was the best bit though.
Peaches · F
@DanielChristensen Dreams are so fascinating!🌜🌟Wonder what it meant that you were so anxious?🤔
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Peaches I think it's like that girl said below, feeling like I will miss my chance
Elegy · 46-50
I don't remember my dreams.

Up side I've never had a nightmare or at least not one I can remember.
Elegy · 46-50
@DanielChristensen I'm familiar with lucid dreams, I'm jelly, bro.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Elegy I had a period where I was having lots, then massive long dry spells. I wonder what was up during that time. Maybe something chemically in my brain was sorting itself. There are a lot of theories about bipolar disorder, but misfiring brain chemistry seems a likely cause to me, if only one among others.
Elegy · 46-50
@DanielChristensen Could also have been stress or tension. When not dealt with appropriately they can make themselves known in odd places.
SW-User
I slept for 4 hours only.. and it was interrupted a few times.. So, didn't have the chance to dream
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@SW-User That sucks. Recall any dreams from previous occasions?
SW-User
@DanielChristensen Can't remember any
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Interesting dream, I don't really remember what I dreamed of.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DanielChristensen a lot of times I do...sometimes have vivid colorful dreams of things before they happen...sometimes it's just silly stuff or if it's a nightmare it's heartburn or asthma (which I haven't had in a long while now)....every once in a while I'll have a dream where I'm still at a job that I've left trying to get things done and lagging behind badly (out of the groove with things now that I've retired).
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@cherokeepatti I'm glad I never dream of moving furniture or working in an office.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DanielChristensen I've dreamed of digging huge holes and then filling them up and digging more....symbolic of periods of my life where my wheels were turning but I was going nowhere, had to make some life changes.
Oh wonderful imagery. I live not far from NYC and was that you I saw when I closed my eyes in a dream
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@SagePoet It might very well have been my friend.
ButchersGeneral · 36-40, M
@Elegy I dreamed I was on a hunting trip. I was about to take the shot but then woke up.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@ButchersGeneral So you hunt in real life?
SW-User
One has to sleep in order to dream. Unfortunately, I can't seem to do that these days.
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@SW-User :( *hugs*
Scribbles · 36-40, F
Sounds like the beginning of a scifi story. 😁
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Scribbles Yus. Got a dream for us?
Scribbles · 36-40, F
@DanielChristensen Sure. Other then dreams about work worries, I recently dreamed that I moved to a warmer climate and was living in an apartment that was part of a complex in which several apartments share a courtyard next to a parking lot. It was dark and I was walking from my apartment across the courtyard which seemed to have stretched larger. Suddenly everybody outside or looking out the window turns and looks at me and then away when this creepy neighbor opens his door and shouts an order to his 3-4 dogs (very large and snarling), and they chase me. Eventually I kick at one of the dogs, and the other jumps at me to bite me and I wake up.

It was weird, because normally I don't get chased in dreams.

I also had a dream where I was on vacation, and everywhere I went the tourguides were really crappy and didn't seem to know anything, or seemed to be making up the dumbest stories, and that in these old monasteries were weird relics of monks body parts that would either kill you instantly or grant you a wish. lol
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@Scribbles Wow its cool how much detail you remember. Those were interesting.
TechniCoIorBroccoli · 46-50, F
I dream random sh1t😕
TechniCoIorBroccoli · 46-50, F
@DanielChristensen snakes ...weird creatures ..my old home ....childhood 😕
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@TechniCoIorBroccoli Snakes damn. I have experienced the other ones though. I have a recurring dream where I am walking along rail tracks, through a wilderness, where feral dogs, wolves, hyenas or lions are tracking me.
TechniCoIorBroccoli · 46-50, F
SW-User
Very seldom do I remember my dreams
DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
@SW-User Any that have adhered to memory? Recurring themes?
