Can anyone recomend a good spiritual book to read ? [Spirituality & Religion]

I have read the bible , but looking to extend out . At times when you read the bible , the very thing about reading it is that at the end of it , you'd end up thinking your God so I have to humble myself and loose the ego cause ego can be very dangerous , that takes you away from God.
Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Jonathan Livingston Seagull, written by Richard Bach and illustrated by Russell Munson, is a fable in novella form about a seagull who is trying to learn about life and flight, and a homily about self-perfection. Bach wrote it as a series of short stories that were published in Flying magazine in the late 1960s. It was first published in book form in 1970, and by the end of 1972 over a million copies were in print. Reader's Digest published a condensed version, and the book reached the top of the New York Times Best Seller list, where it remained for 38 weeks. In 1972 and 1973, the book topped the Publishers Weekly list of bestselling novels in the United States.

In 2014 the book was reissued as Jonathan Livingston Seagull: The Complete Edition, which added a 17-page fourth part to the story.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays I actually agree with this answer. Richard Bach has written some really interesting books.
Another cool one is "Illusions: the adventures of a reluctant messiah".

Why wouldn't you agree? It's a great answer! 🤣

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Erhmmmm...maybe because it was an unusual answer especially when compared to mainstream religious teachings.

khalil gibran the prophet It's very spiritual. there are poems that tackle different aspects of life and how to guide ourselves.

@Dancingxghost I totally agree!! Just read a book about his poems, stories and spiritual insights. My very favorite:"a just man causes the devil more affliction than a million blind followers. "
I knew he was poet, painter and philosopher. Not sure i heard prophet. Yet.
I was glad to read your answer

@Dancingxghost I re edited my answer maybe I make sense this time. Anyway be cool

@kentex35 lol no, he is not a prophet, the book is called the prophet because it starts like a story of a prophet leaving his hometown and giving some last advice before leaving. I'm sorry if it didn't do much sense gramatically, english is not my native language. but I'm really glad we both agree on his thoughts. 😊

I highly recommend the Tao of Pooh as {@bourbon} has recommended. If you wan something of a more light nature (deep but easy to read), I enjoyed this one.
