What kind of leader uses fear tactics to rally his "base?"

What kind of "base" is so easy to manipulate with fear?

@Tiredandlonely he's been an Idiot far long time.
@Tiredandlonely @FreestyleArt ..........Another sad testimony to the ravages of chronic alcoholism. Some people take their liquor, and others are taken by it.

And what about those "mines" the Americans blame the Iranians for that the Japanese captain saw flying through the air to hit the ship.
The only real question is "Just how stupid are American voters?" We know how stupid Trump thinks they are. We wont know for a while if he it right. Not that being wrong stops him.

Similar tactics being used in the UK these days.
A government terrified they may actually be held responsible for their actions have been creating scare stories "If you make us leave the EU this is what might happen" cue photos of people queuing outside empty shops. 'Urchin' children looking up at their parents pleading for food etc.

Shameful it really is

@HerKing certainly a poor move from Government. If you want as much stability as possible you have to keep business updated with where you are what your intentions are. Quite what they seem to be holding out for is a question.
Companies don't know whether to hire or fire and move out.
People don't know whether to take a punt and travel to Europe while they still have passports to do so for work within the union. And there questions even then as to whether they'd be allowed to stay once the UK withdraws.
Stupid state of affairs.

@Picklebobble2 My best friend back in England; Her sister and family have lived in Austria since the kids were very small, the eldest is about 26 now. I don't think they have a clue what they'll do, they've only really known living there, friends, jobs, university etc.

@HerKing I said to my kids about ten years ago, get out while you can. They're looking at emigrating.
They all have skills they can use elsewhere in trades

The similarities are frighteningly similar.

@windinhishair @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow @HerKing The truly terrifying part in all of this is NOT Trump and his cronies. Its the lack of American citizens screaming bloody murder at this pattern of behaviour being repeated inside living memory. Has the nation and its people deteriorated so far in such a short time?

@whowasthatmaskedman Short answer--yes. The US has deteriorated and no longer stands for freedom and liberty. Our allies cannot and should not trust us until we have new leadership, and maybe not even then.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Fear and loathing are two powerful motivators. Every dictator, including wannabees like Trump, know and exploit this.

... heck, the strategym got someone we know appointed to a chancellorship of a major nation in 1933, eh? 🤔
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@samanthasmokes True. But that guy wrote his own book.😉

Basically the entire political elite in the US does this shit.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow A sad commentary about the state of politics in America , and of its people at this time.
@whowasthatmaskedman Sadly this is a decades long trend.
