What kind of leader uses fear tactics to rally his "base?"

What kind of "base" is so easy to manipulate with fear?

The similarities are frighteningly similar.

@HerKing Those comparisons have been obvious for years. Comments by Goebbels, Goering and out of "Mein Kampf'" Can all be seen in the Trump Administration playbook. At this point there is still time to turn back. But this new anti Iranian tilt at the windmills is smelling like the false flag operations that were used as an excuse to invade Poland.
And make no mistake. America is NOT in a position to win this one, for the same reasons Germany lost the last one.
Interview in Göring's cell (3 January 1946)

Göring: Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship.

Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy, the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars.

Göring: Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.
Exactly!
"If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself" Joseph Goebbels.

"If you tell a big enough lie, and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed." Adolf Hitler.
These are scary times to be an American.
@whowasthatmaskedman Then there was his "accidental " Mussolini quote on the campaign trail.

@HerKing @whowasthatmaskedman Trump's advisor Steven Miller is playing the role of Goebbels. He even looks like Goebbels.

@windinhishair @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow @HerKing The truly terrifying part in all of this is NOT Trump and his cronies. Its the lack of American citizens screaming bloody murder at this pattern of behaviour being repeated inside living memory. Has the nation and its people deteriorated so far in such a short time?

@whowasthatmaskedman Short answer--yes. The US has deteriorated and no longer stands for freedom and liberty. Our allies cannot and should not trust us until we have new leadership, and maybe not even then.
