I wonder how many teens marching today truly understand why and what they are asking for

And that they are being used as political pawns by the media
Graylight51-55, F
Because the media is covering these marches, students are somehow the pawns of journalism? I suppose to, then, Trump is a pawn. And the guy in the news footage after an accident when the reporter is advocating for safe driving.

Please.

Do the kids understand the intricate complexities of why they're marching? I'm sure they don't. I'm sure much of America doesn't.

What they do understand is they want to feel safe and they want the adults around them to act the sanely. It's not a lot to ask, and it's not allowed to understand. They are exercising their rights as US citizens and they should be applauded. What did you do today?
Harley4LifeM
@Graylight if you listen to some of their speeches they have more of an adult political spin on them. There is no 11 year old that would say this stuff with out being prompted. Watch them and you will see

As far as what I did today. I went to work. 12 hours overtime going into my daughters college funds. Unlike some I'm doing the best I can to ensure my girls don't have completely massive college debt and there degree will be useful, not a waste of four years
Graylight51-55, F
@Harley4Life An 11 year old 1) is capable to great independent thought and 2) kids will speak what they're taught. This is true with Nazis, with Westboro, with abortion, with anything. That doesn't mean in any way the sentiments aren't their own. At any rate, I'm pretty sure they're not being sent scripts from the local new stations. Don't underestimate the youth; they'll be running the joint in 5-10 years. Impede them now and they learn only to be angry, defeated and jaded. Support them and ignite the spark of action and progress.

No education is wasted. Paying debt is great. Imagine if we could help create a place where that was attainable for everyone?
Uhohuhoh51-55, C
I鈥檓 not in America but you should all be glad if kids are getting engaged and starting to care about what is happening in your country . Stop worrying whether you agree with them or not . It鈥檚 almost the young鈥檚 job to think differently than we do. We need the balance
frequentlyme70-79, M
Look, the media is not the problem. Anybody who thinks the media is the problem, is running about five bottles short of a six pack.
room10151-55, M
@katielass The media was given a precious gift BY YOUR CONSTITUTION!!!!!! That statement alone shows how daft you truly are. And it's your orange moron that is doing all that he can to compromise the media. Unless they happen to be called Fox News.

For once in your life, take your head out of your arse and try looking at reality for a change.
katielassF
@room101 Stop looking in the mirror and you'll stop seeing morons. You haven't managed to do anything but prove, yet again, how utterly stupid you are. So, blow off, I am no longer talking to morons.
room10151-55, M
@katielass You're an idiot. Pure and simple.
SatanBurger36-40, F
I'd say the teens are actually doing more than those NRA brown nosers. I think most understand these days that if they don't do anything, then it will never get done.
therighttothink5056-60, M
You are dealing with dummies, illogic driven indoctrinated left wing idealogues brought up by cultural marxists who were taught to virtue signal and bark on command. Connected to the hive and raised by google, creatures who hate themselves, lost in virtue signaling and selective outrage.

These are the useful idiots/puppets of the new world order, the collective cultists who all hate individual liberty. Rased on ritalin and anti-depressive drugs, they are the new drone generation. Low on substance and high on things which don't mean a hill of beans.
didnt Stalin call these ppl useful idiots?
Maybe it was someone else.. 馃
Honestly, I think the kids marching understand being used as pawns better than most adults who think they're thinking for themselves.
I agree the media is using them. And they are doing it to be with other kids.
NorthwestM
I wonder if you realize you're being used as a pawn by the NRA.
room10151-55, M
Yeah sure. And all 700 marches around America and the 37 marches around the world were all the result of media manipulation.

Get a grip!
Harley4LifeM
@room101 that was mostly college and not high school kids.
Yes I own several firearms however I believe the NRA has lost it focus and is more about the interests of lobbyists than individual gun owners and rights
room10151-55, M
@Harley4Life We are living in the digital age. Kids now have access to far more information, at a much younger age, than I and my peers did 30+ years ago.

You should be celebrating these kids, regardless of your views. Because, they are showing all of us that they are engaged. They care. They want to do something.
room10151-55, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout And reducing gun deaths is not worthwhile?

It must be really scary in your little bubble. The kids are coming after your guns. Good for them!
SatyrServiceM
The media is entirely owned, with only few exceptions, by conservative, corporate media.
Your basic premis, is the product of that mass media.
SatyrServiceM
@Harley4Life nope! You are right! it was written to anger conservatives
It worked didn't it!

Just like they want
jackson55M
@SatyrService CNN, NBC, CNBC, CBS, NPR conservative media? 馃槀馃槀
SatyrServiceM
@jackson55 @Harley4Life
Corporate conservatism does not look the same as political conservatism.
The second is a tool of the first.

they have another agenda

And media labels are not indicative of control and ownership.
Nor does control ensure an overt message.
the coverage of left wings issues, is
supposed to make you mad
And it does! Why do these Corpo's want that?

Are these "liberal" organizations?
(Note they shift names, and ownerships often) Bertlesman, Comcast,
GE, Newscorp, Disney, Viacom, Time warner, CBS, "liberal media?"
They own in the us alone,
9000+ Radio stations
1500+ TV stations
2400 + publishers
Networks, add agencies, websites uncounted
The same companies own media on BOTH sides of politics.
We have been divided, what comes next?
SW-User
The media didn't tell them to march. They took it upon themselves to do so.

I suppose Sandy Hook was a false flag operation, right?
Harley4LifeM
@SW-User no I don't and anyone who thinks Sandy hook was is a fucking idiot
SW-User
@Harley4Life There's a number of people on the right that say that. Only the right. Spin occurs on both sides.
Harley4LifeM
@SW-User i agree and there are far too many that don't realize that. I look at both sides because in reality the truth is inbetween
Let them go.. they will learn about wasting time..
SatyrServiceM
garmicsmi41-45, M
Their right to safety and security?
Harley4LifeM
@garmicsmi from listening to some of these kids they really are clueless. Watch some and you will see what I mean. I can only imagine how the speeches and interviews will be once they are no longer live. All stations spin it regardless liberal or conservative
katielassF
None, for if they even suspected it they would not be there.

What I truly wonder about Harley4Life, is if YOU yourself truly understand 'why and what' those teens are asking for. That is the real question I now find myself pondering.
