Should women be able to vote even though they dont sign up for the draft?

Fernie · F
geezus! step into this century dude!
Fernie · F
@quietlitany YOU ARE A NEANDERTHAL PIG...STFU...hey...you got NO support here..not from men or women...tell you anything??? I think you are just a dimwitted troll.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@Fernie I guess you're incapable of explaining your ideas.

The draft was discontinued in the US in the 1970s.
hlpflwthat · M
@Rutterman No one since early '73. Reagan, in fact, criticized Carter's move and promised he would abolish The Selective Service order if elected.
hlpflwthat · M
@quietlitany I don't know how I could make it any clearer for you. Rutterman is correct that it was ended in the 70s. It was re-introduced, yes. But that doesn't mean it wasn't ended for a number of years.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@hlpflwthat Easy, stop thinking I'm unclear. We still have to sign up for the draft in the US, even though it's currently inactive. Women don't. Why?

@MalteseFalconPunch I see. What about people with no children? What about single men who have kids that still have to sign up for the draft?

Women can't be cannon fodder?

They still serve, I had two female Drill Sergeants and I’d love to see you tell them they couldn’t vote anymore
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@JRVanguard They could form female only units. You and I both have seen capable female soldiers.
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
@quietlitany Thu could, and they should have equal opportunity to be on the front lines
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@JRVanguard Cannon fodder.

im pretty sure women have to sign up for the draft
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
@quietlitany i do understand that. Theyre still commiting their lives.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@NeuroticByNature Only they're (females) not required too.
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
@quietlitany no. Theyre not.
firefall · 61-69, M
there is no draft, you stupid dick
Fernie · F
@quietlitany I got yer draft...OVA HERE!
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@quietlitany and now female as well
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
I take that back. It seems they changed the language of that bill...so i am incorrect
Of course they should, they are part of society and it’s a cohesive whole, just because they don’t fight on the frontlines as men do, they are still 50% of the work force.
/@quietlitany Well what do you think?
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@CovertStarGazer Personally, I think women should either be required to sign up for the draft as men do or the draft gets completely removed. The odds of the latter happening is slim to none as removing law is tedious....making law however...
@quietlitany I guess that is equality.
katielass · F
Males are required to register for the draft although the drat has been suspended. I think females should be required to serve in some way but I don't think you really want them beside you in combat. I mean the idea is to come home in one piece.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@katielass They can have their own units or serve in other functions. The draft is basically for cannon fodder, so I think they should have their own combat units.
katielass · F
@quietlitany Yeah, that could work. They should be obliged to do something, at least support staff for our troops.
SW-User
No one signs up for the draft. Lol But I know there are women out there that serve, or want to serve. The noble heart is the same.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@SW-User Males do and I did.
SW-User
Oh yeah, you're right. I'm sorry. I was thinking too far back like WWars. My bad, but they should have a draft for women as well.
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@SW-User I agree with you.
SW-User
I know I'm going to be the odd one out here, and that's okay. I don't think women should serve in the military, period.
Socialclutz · 36-40, M
Yes, they’re citizens. I’m sure there are many women more than capable of being in battle
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@Socialclutz I agree with you.
snowbelt · 61-69, M
As several people have accurately pointed out, we haven't had an active draft since 1973, although men are required to register for Selective Service on their 18th birthdays. Our military is all volunteer and has many capable women serving with distinction. What does a registration for a draft that hasn't existed in 44 years have to do with a citizen's right to vote? Of course women should vote.
SW-User
Geez, you call me and we talk about voting and now this? Did you not like my views? 😋 Just kidding....

Anyways.....yes, we should still be able to vote. But I am one who also believes in equal rights too, so we should also have to sign up for the draft. I honestly don't think it's fair that men, if there were to be a draft, get forced to lay down their lives while us women sit back and watch.....🙈
SW-User
I don’t know but that’s a cool picture
Xuan12 · 31-35, M
Really no one ought to have to sign up for the draft. Though I don't necessarily oppose some kind of universal service and training system. We don't NEED it, but it might still be a good idea.
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
I never thought about it. I thought about joining the military. About a month after that thought crossed my mind I found out I was pregnant. There went that idea.

@Foxgirl So why don't women have to sign up for the draft?
NightGalleries · 26-30, M
Do we even have a draft still?
quietlitany · 36-40, M
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
@NightGalleries it will effect your social security if you dont.

Whaaaaaaaat? Just what, dude?
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@dumpstermeow Should women be able to vote even though they don't sign up for the draft?
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
@quietlitany yes 😑
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Who has ever signed up for the draft?
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@Thevy29 Males have to in the US. I did for example.

quietlitany · 36-40, M
@IstillmissEP I think they should sign up for the draft.
lorne13 · 61-69, M
What draft?
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@lorne13 The US requires males to sign up for the military draft at 18. There is no active draft, but you still have to sign up for it in the event it is reactivated. Females aren't required to.
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@quietlitany it still exists? And you think women should have to sign up?
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@lorne13 Yes and yes I do.
SW-User
Either do old men?
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@SW-User It's required at 18 and there is a cut off age due to being older, tax paying, and supporting a family. It's justified by the large amount of younger blood. There is a sign up age limit too that needs a waiver to exceed in the event of volunteer service.

Now, what about females?
. Sorry miss read the q.
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
Women are now required to sign up for draft.

And i hope this is sarcasm
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
**correction that bills language was changed.

BTW: There ARE women who sign up all on their own ..they never needed to be told
quietlitany · 36-40, M
@JaggedLittlePill And they're valued members of the team. Still, they don't have to sign up for the draft. Males do.
