I suffered from MAJOR insomnia a couple of years ago...up for 3 months straight except for the occasional 30 minute naps during my lunch hour. In my case, it was anxiety...even though I didn't show any other signs of anxiety...I was pretty chill and not stressed out at all. I ended up taking an anti-anxiety med and have been sleeping almost too well sense. I cut my dose in half because I felt like I was losing my day-time edge....and right now things seem semi-okay. (I still tend to stay up too late....but not from inability to sleep).
I hope you find some method to tackle this...because it truly sucks! And having people say "just get some sleep" doesn't help!
@FigNewton I would have never thought of anxiety being a culprit, but it does make a lot of sense! I honestly don't think it is stress related. I am ruling out things as I go along. I also have my annual physical scheduled with my MD next week so I might bring it up then as well. Thanks for your input! 😁
@skmokisses True and the whole season of college football coming up! I recommend focusing on something tearfully boring to put you to sleep. Can’t you read a super boring book?
I used to be a small parts welder at an aerospace facility, and they unexpectedly moved me from 1st shift to 3rd. It was a nightmare. I would walk around in a daze, remembering nothing, I would fall asleep at my machine, I was a complete wreck and couldn't sleep during the day despite trying EVERYTHING- room darkening drapes, a soothing noise machine, a heated mattress pad, melatonin, sleeping medicine, benadryl, sleepytime tea, and meditation.
I eventually had to resort to knocking myself out with cough syrup, which I was extremely not happy to have to do.
Aw, thats one of my favourite movies. I am sorry you are having a hard time..have you got the blue light filter turned on, on your phone or computer, that helps.
