What would you have done?

So last week Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday the teacher I work with was out of state and there was a sub and a paraprofessional with me and the students. Apparently there was a mosquito problem in the classroom because the teacher has broken branches with leaves and milkweed in two buckets with water that kind of smelled. A few weeks back I told the teacher about the mosquito problem and all she did was replace the water with fresh water. Last week the sub was saying if the health department or certain people came to the school and notice the mosquitoes in the classroom the teacher would be written up.So just to save the teacher from getting in trouble I decided to throw what caused the mosquitoes to arrive/lay eggs out in the garbage. Now today the teacher spoke to me about where did I put the plants etc and I told her about what happen. She didn't seem very pleased and told me that I could of just change the water or threw them out in the grass etc.I told her next time I will call her and let her know what is going on to ask her what to do even if she's on a mini break.I didn't want to bother her on her days off but next time I will.

If you were in this situation what would you do?
I would have thrown the offending plant/mosquito material into the nearest trash can, outdoors, and set it ablaze. End of story.

I would have done exactly what you did. It was a health risk, what else were you supposed to do?

Exactly what you did. Tell your coworker to get some common sense.
