Why does the restauraunt industry attract the biggest power tripping managers on the planet?

Especially in fast food from my past experience those shift managers and general managers were crazy with how they treated and spoke to people. In sit down places it's not much better because crazy things get done and said in the kitchen. I'm about to turn 36 here in december I'm not new to this industry I'm a veteran line cook leave me alone I'm not the one you should be worried about.

Fast food outlets have to have driven managers because they have high productivity targets to meet.

Typically fast food is a high volume, high-labor, low-profit-margin product that typically promotes fast turn around to keep it’s customers happy. The only way to get fast working staff of crappy wages is to drive them hard.

If you want a less fast paced work environment don’t work in a fast food outlet.
