No, a "Girl Friday" was a term for a female assistant, sort of a combination secretary, gopher, assistant, advisor. Used mostly in the 1930s/1940s I think.

@YoMomma I forgot that it was a movie. Maybe that was what made me think of it. Oh now I want to see it. It was probably from the 50's in black and white
