I am so tired of bullshit employment personality quizzes

They’ll be like “which word is most like you and which is least like you? “Objective, kind, ambitious”. Like bro I don’t want to say any of those are least like me and they have nothing to do with each other like ???? I swear they just make you answer 100 of these stupid questions just to see if you’re willing to put up with bullshit to get the job

Well, it gets past all the interviewing lying that takes place... on both sides... and forces you into revealing your true intentions, motivations, and preferences. I personally prefer those instead of having to navigate a verbal interrogation of trickery.

@MarkPaul how the hell does selecting one of 3 adjectives listed reveal your true intentions/motivations/preferences?? Most of the time those adjectives have no relation to one another and you could just as easily guess which ones they want to hear as answer honestly… also keep in mind that this does not replace interviews, more often than not it’s used to determine whether or not to give you an interview in the first place, which is bullshit because most of the time they are set up in a way where you could not accurately represent yourself if you tried.

One real example of an item I encountered on an assessment where I had to rank 3 phrases in order of what best describes me to what least describes me:

• My opinions are always based on facts not emotions
• I can see the advantages and disadvantages of an approach
• I have no problem working on several tasks at the same time

Like realistically, what useful information would they gather from what order you put them in? Which one is the most important? Least important? Would it even make a difference whether you answer honestly or try and give the answer you think they want to hear?

What about:

• I find it difficult to identify why other people behave the way they do
• I sometimes do not focus on securing new business when opportunities arise
• I do not take criticism very well

Do you really wanna say that any of those are like you? Do you know for sure what’s the better answer? The worst answer? Does the employer even know what answers they should be looking for? Do they even look at your answers? Or is it just a way to filter out people who aren’t willing to put up with pointless bullshit just to work for their shitty company for shitty pay?

@Zeuro Well, you don't understand the fundamentals of interviewing or the psychology behind it. You see, it's less about the choice you make and it's mostly about the choice you make in context with the other alternatives. It gets into the psychology of the human mind which I have studied quite a bit at the University level. Without that training, it's going to be difficult for you to understand it... which is understandable. So, just take it from me, that is a good way for any business to initially screen proper candidates from ones they should pass on. It's nothing personal.
