Why do jobs not want you to come in sick but turn around and chastise you for calling out?

I'm running a 101.0 F fever you do not want me in believe me. I called off this morning and they acted like I committed a war crime. I rarely call out unless I need to and I'm never late. Give me a break I'm dizzy, body aching, chills... I'm useless right now. Hurts to move and my tastebuds are gone.

Becoming it affects them. They aren't worried about how you feel, they worried about how they feel now that they're shorthanded.

@ScreamingFox Perhaps if places staffed properly it would be alright but they go by the man made corporate construct of labor and greed.
@separatetheheart Yup, sitting in an office somewhere deciding what's best for the ones on the front line. And what's more profitable for them.

The sad part is, we all just keep pushing through this bullshit, and it never gets better.

Ay they are probably just skeptical and it is the weekend so 😳 but if you are sick you can’t be there so phooey on them 😅

Hope you feel better 😳

@YoMomma I have a timestamped photo of my thermometer if they wish to challenge it.

We didn't get sick days at Environment Control, but they pretend to "care". Right up til they "have to let you go"

The secret is just not to get sick or have any family members who get sick

I thought they learned better than this during the Covid era. I guess they want the whole crew sick or something.
