Starting a tedious work order right now

Time is 10.30 am, Wednesday 26th February.
I am cutting 50mm Bisalloy 500 steel plate.
The work order is for 7 x 3 metres x 120 mm steel bars. Each bar will take 25 minutes to cut.

A total of 3 hours. All I need to do now, is stand here and make sure nothing goes wrong.
Must stop myself from falling asleep. 🥱

Looks like plasma cutting

@come2gether Oxy cutting. 36 mm up to 120mm plate.
Plasma cutting can go from 2mm up to 32mm.

@Gusman ah, good to know! Do the edges need to be cleaned up?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@come2gether Most times there is a little dross on the underside, cleaned with an angle grinder.

@Gusman are you allowed to start pulling cut bars while the rest of the operation is ongoing to clean up the cut ones

@come2gether No. Must let the whole job be completed before removing any cut pieces.
They can be quite tight and difficult to remove at times. Can not rick the steel plate move, that would compromise the alignment which would ruin the cutting.

@Gusman yep, it would, then you just made scrap

@come2gether For sure. This plate is very expensive. Bisalloy 500 is very hard steel. Costs about $15,000 for a 8 metre x 2400 metre plate.

@Gusman what's it used to build?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@come2gether Used as wear plate. In crushers, very large front end loader buckets, dump truck trays etc.

@Gusman ah, got it. Cool stuff!
