I don’t know. If I did, I’d volunteer with animals
beermeplease · M
@Jenny1234 that would be great
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
I understand the just yet part. It can take weeks to see any of the money, so it makes sense to hold off until you do. But I’m not 100% sure I’d quit my job even then. We’re severely short handed and they’re genuinely such good people that it would be an internal struggle to leave them a person down.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart You are truly a good person ☺️
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
Yeah I definitely wouldn't work for someone else. I'd devote my life to giving it away.
NoThanksLeon · M
@AlchemyFox same
PrincessVelvet · F
oh god yes. That is why I frequently play the lotteries is the dream and hope of early retirement. I have no desire to be filty rich. I would donate most of it to animal charities and keep enough to live comfortably to never have to work again.
beermeplease · M
@PrincessVelvet awesome... i would look to animal charities too
Musicman · 61-69, M
I am already retired and a fulltime caregiver to my wife so I definitely wouldn't go back to work. I would definitely like to travel more in our motorhome though.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@beermeplease My mom and dad were married for 59 years before my mom passed away. My wife and I have been together for 33 years and going strong. 🙂
beermeplease · M
@Musicman that's cool...love to hear that. my parents passed away too early. dad at 66 and mom at 78... but they loved each other so much
Musicman · 61-69, M
@beermeplease My mom was 81 and my dad was 86.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Yes, and I'd be involved in pet rescue.
beermeplease · M
@Starcrossed another human with a great heart
Yourguyinthecity · 51-55, M
Believe me, with that amount in my pocket I would quit the next day.
DavidScott · 51-55, M
as crazy as it sounds, I probably wouldn't. I would work a few more weeks to give my bosses time to figure out what to do. I like the people I work with and I wouldn't want to leave them in a lurch
beermeplease · M
@DavidScott cool work ethic...like that ❤️
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@DavidScott same, I'm not a total as*hole. But I'm not stickin' around too long either.
meggie · F
I would
I might go find another job, but I wouldn't stay with the place I'm working now.
sladejr · 56-60, M
Every schmuch says that. Never happens
beermeplease · M
@sladejr probably right...i remember watching the news one time and a couple won a huge jackpot. they were asked what they want to do with the money. they said buy this and that and go on a extended vacation to cuba... that was actually a smart move as they weren't actually going there...
pdockal · 56-60, M
Id be gone so fast
Might go back and take some co workers to lunch

Fluffybull · F
I used to say no, because I enjoy what I do. But lately it seems to be less about the animals and more about spoilt, privileged people. So, yes - I'd quite.
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@Fluffybull you work with fluffy cows?
Fluffybull · F
@TheOthetAcc No. 🤭. I'm a self-employed dog-walker/pet-sitter.
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M
@Fluffybull oh I see. You are SWs very own dog whisperer. 😉
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
My bf won large in the lottery and he bought a few nightclubs. He gave me the job as his secretary.
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
@beermeplease What's wrong with it?
beermeplease · M
@MaryDreamilton on one hand there's nothing wrong with being a secretary... but he should have given you a management position i guess
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
@beermeplease I'm quite content with being a secretary.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Do not pay tax on lottery winnings in Australia
beermeplease · M
@nedkelly nor do we in canada... we only pay tax on the interest we make
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@beermeplease That is fair enough
I wouldn't, at least not immediately
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SooperSarah I can understand that.
PleasurePunch · 100+
sometimes money just isn't everything.
beermeplease · M
@PleasurePunch it's not..... but i'd love to change my life a bit and perhaps volunteer my time for something rather than having to work and wait for a paycheck to make ends meet
DeerMePlease · 36-40, M
I would give all money to fix our forests ...to look like this
Lilymoon · F
It's always the way 🤦🏻♀️
beermeplease · M
@Lilymoon somehow i'm thinking if either one of us wins we ain't working...i'm only working to feed me, my cat and pay the rent...a few luxuries like season tickets.... to hell with working 🤪
Lilymoon · F
@beermeplease defo 🍻
Banksy83 · 36-40, M
Why work when you have money to burn
beermeplease · M
@Banksy83 exactly...
ArtieKat · M
Hell, I quit my job before winning the Lottery! I was/am self-employed lol but with that sort of money I'd go back to work (part-time) and start buying up catering businesses and bars - my passions!
BobbyMoeven · 51-55, M
I am buying the company ..
Dumping the CEO and giving everyone a raise ...
Give the CEO job to this guy ..
Because that's really what it requires ..
Then headed for the hills on my brand new unicorn

I would probably keep working as well
Iwillwait · M
He's being smart, planning.
bijouxbroussard · F
I think it depends on when I won it and what kinds of work I was doing. I’ve had jobs I loved doing, so I might’ve stayed on a volunteer basis. If I won the lottery while retired, I might start my own business. That’s what my cousin did.
DDonde · 31-35, M
yes
I would
Lilnonames · F
i would buy my place of work i like it
beermeplease · M
@Lilnonames nice... you'd make a cool boss...i'd work for you
SandWitch · 26-30, F
No, I definitely would not quit my job! If your job is also your passion in life, why would you give up your passion for a bunch of money? You'd end up living a useless life like the Royals over in England who have a bottomless pit filled with money yet the whole lot of them serve no real purpose on this earth. Is that what you'd also want for yourself?
beermeplease · M
@SandWitch then i should visit....but i'm about a 6 hour flight from there
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@beermeplease
How many pints of Moosehead is that journey, an even dozen then?
