Do the picture nude since it鈥檚 just a headshot which makes it extra artistic.. 馃馃帗
QueenOfTheNerds41-45, F
@AuRevoir Maybe I should say that it鈥檚 a creative, but mostly conservative field. 馃槄

Highlight your skills and info related to the presentation, and have one of your best friends help find the right pic.
QueenOfTheNerds41-45, F
@SW-User I have, but it just reads as perfunctory. I work in a creative industry, and I feel like it should have a little more pizazz to draw interest.
SW-User
@QueenOfTheNerds Can't help you there. Pizazz isn't my strong suit. But I get what you're saying. Perhaps who ever invited you to the event might have some ideas.
MyNameIsHurl41-45, F
Yeah, it's hard to write about yourself. Just try and think of the highlights of your career and the differences you've made
twistedrope26-30, M
Go with simple. I find a lot of bios in presentations the presenter tries to come off as quirky to lighten the mood and it makes me feel as if I am wasting my time because I work in a high-stress and high-risk environment. In that environment, I'll say how the subject relates to my processes specifically or the wider org structure.

If it's a more relaxed environment, maybe share your home town, how it affected you and a small part about what interested you to start research into the subject of the presentation.

Throw in an anecdote of how you got into the field and something that happened that inspired you then build on that.
UnlikeableAndy36-40, M
You could pick just about any picture and it would be good , you鈥檙e beautiful
PoeticPlay51-55, M
Invite the biggest gossip that you know to a tea party that you can not attend due to a deadline that you must meet.
Then just press record.

Take a walk with someone you know has a crush on you and 8 minutes into the walk, hand them your phone and ask them to take some pictures of you at random. So that you might see how they see you.

Trust me it will be very flattering.
Ferric67M
I so hate doing those, they strike me as vain.
YnotisayM
I'd suggest creating a list of the attributes and history you think would be appropriate for the audience. That'll help you create some distance. You might even want the drafts to be written in the third person and then go back and change them for the final edit.
MrSmooTh31-35, M
Well it's your life, so you could just write whatever story you want to tell about yourself. You could even pull a Kurt Vonnegut and open with the disclaimer that "all of this happened, more or less".
QueenOfTheNerds41-45, F
@MrSmooTh I mean, they never said that it couldn鈥檛 be fiction. 馃槀
Flenflyys31-35, F
Make the structure using professional formatting, almost like a resume, and then beef it up with humour and creativity.
OntheroadM
Have a close friend write it for you. It's amazing what others see in us, thungs we never see. Use what they write to write your own.
OldBrit61-69, M
I used to hate having to do that stuff. I asked a colleague and friend to write one once. She produced two the first was hilarious.
MontanamanM
Do you need help? 馃憤馃馃珎馃
Or no way you'd trust someone on SW 馃お
QueenOfTheNerds41-45, F
@Montanaman Well, it鈥檚 a professional bio, so it includes some info I wouldn鈥檛 share on here.
I鈥檒l get it eventually. It鈥檚 just frustrating me right now. 鉂わ笍
MontanamanM
@QueenOfTheNerds Gotcha!馃憤馃憤馃
But you have some lovely pictures if i remember correctly, pick the one that you're comfortable with them seeing that looks both professional and appealing. 馃憤馃
Ferric67M
@QueenOfTheNerds I balked at it for a year, it took one of my bosses complaining to my gf to get me to participate.
That happens a lot where I work, the complaints against me get sent to her.
Richard65M
Maybe try, "Darling, I don't need no princes; I'm no damsel in distress." 馃槈
NorthwestM
I'm sure someone already suggested it. ChatGpt
QueenOfTheNerds41-45, F
@Northwest I did think about this as an option.
NorthwestM
@QueenOfTheNerds It works really well for this sort of thing. You need to make sure you're using 4.0, not 3.5.

I use it for syntax completion, as in I pay for the GitHub extension (about $100 per year), and when in VisualCode, or another IDE, it works really well as a syntax-completion tool / Class structure filler, etc. People under the impression it will write code for you, will be disappointed. It's neither accurate, nor efficient.
robertsnj56-60, M
how did your presentation turn out? what was it for?
CrazyMusicLover31-35
That's how I feel about a CV photo. Nothing ever seems appropriate.
TheLordOfHell41-45
Write about that time you saved the planet, and draw a picture of your foot on top of your fallen foe
