Have you considered a blue collar job like HVAC or automotive?
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@SinlessOnslaught it’s okay. We have been dealing with it for a while now, and I wouldn’t trade a second of the time I’ve spent making him comfortable for the world. He’s my best friend, and he deserves the care we’ve given him. He was dealt a bad hand in life, and I think he’s owed comfort in his last year or two of life. We think he was a puppy mill dog 😢
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@SinlessOnslaught we’ve had him since he was 3 months old.
SinlessOnslaught · 26-30, M
@PoisonLace He's blessed to be with you today.

aI writing is going to force a lot of changes. I teach writing at a university and students turn in generated work. It’s rapidly becoming hard to tell from student-written.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@joe438 I certainly hope that ai isn’t going to be the death of the creative field as we know it. That would be awful, because there would be no more jobs for those who are that talented.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Wow, how can you survive on so little? Some fast food jobs pays 14 dollars an hour where I live . That's 560 gross per week for 40 hours.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@FreeSpirit1 it really would me. I am grateful that I had someone to fall back on, otherwise I’d be completely out of luck.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@FreeSpirit1 but that doesn’t make me hate this any less. I hate relying on someone else, and desperately crave to be independent.
@PoisonLace I can imagine so :(
Livingwell · 61-69, M
Really sorry to hear this. They say there are lots of jobs but I'm not seeing it. And they want young people so they can pay less. I hope things work out for you. 🤗
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@PoisonLace Have you considered being a receptionist in a dr office? Pays decently.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@Livingwell unfortunately working from home is the only option right now.
Livingwell · 61-69, M
@PoisonLace I understand. So many changes in company policies, etc. And they want more of our personal time.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Practically every government agency, department, function, jurisdiction, etc. has an administrative component that writes, reads, and handles volumes of documents. All with needs of reviewing and replacement periodically. And much of it time squeezed. Like how many thousands of pages of documents does the IRS, state revenue department have publish every year?

From reading your post, there is probably a high paying government job job already desperately looking for you.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@Heartlander I hope so. I just don’t know where to look.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@PoisonLace Start your city, your county, area coordinating agencies, nearby cities and counties, various "authorities" like your local and nearby school districts, airport authorities, housing authorities, A typical metroplex may have hundreds of governing authorities. And they probably all have their own website websites with links to their job openings. Also, find your state website for its department of labor and search for links there. for job openings

ScarletWitch · 26-30, F
What job do you have thats for writing. I wouldnt mind joining. What's your job called.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@ScarletWitch it’s like freelance stuff. Look on Upwork.com and you may find something similar. Unfortunately I cannot say the name of the company here, but if you want you can message me.
That's sounds very low. I really hope you can find something else. ASAP.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@littlepuppywantanewlife waiting until after the holidays. It is harder to find a job at the end of the year.
PoisonLace · 41-45, F
@mysteryespresso it was definitely their loss, to be honest. However, it was kind of my loss as far as money. I was done with customer service though anyway. It was breaking me. Imagine doing customer service work from age 15 to 41.
@PoisonLace customer service for so many years would make anyone @PoisonLace d Hope you find a good job
