Barely making $100 every 2 weeks

Well, I lost my contracting job on December 1st…I was only getting less than $300 per week, and trying to stay above water without going negative in my bank. I only had that gig for 8 months. And now, I am only working my side gig while trying to find something else. It pays $4 per chapter of ai written content (I write 150-200 words for the first part, and the ai writes the rest). It’s an okay gig, but being that I am actually an aspiring writer, I’m scared that this gig is going to be the death of my future as a writer (if I ever make it to that point). But the good news is, ai itself still has a lot of kinks to work out, and it loves to repeat certain words and phrases. So with that said, I will know the difference between an ai written book, and a book put out by an actual person. I just wish I could find a real job that’s not customer service, or contracting that gets rid of me for stupid reasons that don’t make sense…I just need something that I enjoy doing that pays well. This whole year has been a huge disappointment.

Have you considered a blue collar job like HVAC or automotive?

@SinlessOnslaught I do not have technical/automotive experience or expertise…and at the moment, working from home is the only option. There are many reasons for that, but the biggest one is that I have a very disabled elderly dog to take care of, and leaving home for hours at a time is not good for him. He has no eyes and is losing his bladder/bowels every couple of hours…and he howls when I’m away. But that’s the least of his issues, unfortunately.

@SinlessOnslaught we are not sure how much longer we will have him, and I promised I’d be there when it’s his time (I wasn’t able to for my previous dog 😣).

@PoisonLace Oh wow. I'm sorry.

@SinlessOnslaught it’s okay. We have been dealing with it for a while now, and I wouldn’t trade a second of the time I’ve spent making him comfortable for the world. He’s my best friend, and he deserves the care we’ve given him. He was dealt a bad hand in life, and I think he’s owed comfort in his last year or two of life. We think he was a puppy mill dog 😢

@SinlessOnslaught we’ve had him since he was 3 months old.
