Biden you suck

I don’t know if any of y’all are following the rail workers looming strike but you should be.

Biden and congress are probably going to force the unions hand in accepting the offer by the rail lines, albeit with the provision they are given 7 sick days per year.

7. Per year.

That’s just some of what they’re not getting now. No wonder they’re threatening to shut the whole country down.

The government can back off and the whole thing can collapse. Give the workers what they deserve.

It’s a private company and can do what it wants.

@MrBrownstone and the workers have freedom of speech, movement and association. Hence they can strike if they want.

A company can be bought and sold and still function. A company without workers produces nothing, meaning no profit.

@basilfawlty89 Not according to liberals
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone erm...not according to conservatives apparently either. You're defending unfair labour practices and you're on the side of the elite against the working man.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@basilfawlty89 Nope. What part of private company are you not understanding?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone what part of the collective bargaining do you not understand?

You do realise pure capitalism has never existed right? A fully free market laissez-faire economy would implode.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@basilfawlty89 Private companies can do whatever it wants. That’s your liberal logic
DDonde · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone No, man, what we say with social media is that a private company can choose to regulate the content of its users. But the first amendment, as being part of the constitution, only applies to the government.

@DDonde Grammar please.

@MrBrownstone if a private company can do it wants then private citizens can strike if they want.

Simple.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@MrBrownstone no one ever said that. They said social media sites have terms of service, much like restaurants reserve the right to admission. If you join a social media site, then agree to adhere to the terms of the social media site. However, the social media site has no right to violate the law, for example incitement, treason, violating someone's civil liberties, etc.

Why do I have to give you Economics 101 and Civic Law 101?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@basilfawlty89 Plenty of people did

@MrBrownstone citation needed. And you do know you lot originally started that, right? It was during the Gay Wedding Cake fiasco where you said it's their business, they can do what they want with it without government interference. It's a conservative argument, not a liberal one.

And again liberals aren't leftists.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@basilfawlty89 Actually he needs a lesson in middle school civics, but you really shouldn't waste your time.

@MrBrownstone The problem is not (exclusively) that the companies are being unreasonable and cruel, but that the Railway Labor Act allows congress to forcibly end a railway strike whenever it chooses, even preemptively, a power it does not have over any other occupation. Thus, workers are denied thir one piece of leverage for obtaining fair conditions and can be legally mandated to go to work.
