What type of wake up person are you?

Do you prefer to wake up an hour or two before getting ready and leaving for work or maximize your time and sleep cycle by waking up with just enough time to get dressed and slam a cup of coffee before leaving?

Me? I am the latter. Being awake for very much time before work feels like wasted time just waiting and makes the work day drag and just feel longer. I hate being awake sitting around waiting to go work.

I wake up like 3-ish hours before work. I love early morning when the city is still quiet, and waking up earlier means I don’t have to stress myself out by rushing.

@summersong It's been minths since I've been able to enjoy those glorious hours

I'm the opposite of you.

I rise early enough to shower, dress, apply makeup, eat breakfast, drink coffee, and then watch tv for a little while before leaving for work. If I go right from bed to work, it makes my day really stressful and I hate it. I like having that time before I leave to really set the mood of my day.
MethDozer · M
@DearAmbellina2113 Yeah, we are polar opposites. All that does for me is make want a nap by lunchtime. I can't enjoy any of the hours before work because I can't really do anything enjoyable because I need to be clean and not tired for work. So unless I use it for sleep it's this obnoxious sitting there waiting game.
MethDozer · M
@DearAmbellina2113 Ideally I get up 30 minutes befire leaving. Just enough time to get dressed and brush my hair.

When i was working, i would get up about an hour and a half before i had to leave. One hour designated for a long, hot bath.
Of course i would sleep for most of that hour.
So i fall into both the former and latter categories.
The former. I wash and dry my hair in the morning before I go anywhere.
MethDozer · M
@Spoiledbrat I do that before bed so I don't have to wake up early after sleeping in my own filth from the day.
exexec · 61-69, C
I usually made it to work by 7:00, an hour before my staff arrived. I got up early enough to have breakfast, glance at the newspapers, and drive 15 minutes to the office.
Montanaman · M
The former. It takes me literally an hour to function. Coffee. Smokes, My dog at my feet, waging me a hope of a good day.
MethDozer · M
@Montanaman I just smoke and coffee on the way there. Sitting around for hours waiting to go to work is like having that many more hours devoted to work but not getting paid for it. It's time that is useless to me personally since I can't really do anything but wait to leave for work. Plus it just makes yhe day longer and more exhausting.
I prioritise coffee and snacks for the day over hair and make up. So it’s fair to say I’m a hot mess.
MethDozer · M
@Notladylike Coffee and snacks are important.

I'm an early riser because I enjoy drinking my coffee in silence

JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
I like sleeping in and cursing the alarm when it goes off. Sets my mood for the day

I don’t work but I’m definitely an early riser - I like to get up and out in the morning
deadgerbil · 26-30
I wake up as late as possible
MethDozer · M
@deadgerbil Smart man

I need to wake up earlier so I can have time to prepare for hell
MethDozer · M
@SkeetSkeet I'm the opposite. I just sit there thinking about hell and am then ready for a nap when it is time to leave..

The pisser is early mornings are my favorite time of daay, but waiting to go to work ruins them and sucks any joy out of that time.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I wake up early every morning. I would rather sleep but pain keeps me awake.
