People at work being jerks to my assistant. Again.
Funny. Earlier this week I was ready to hurt Bryanna for all the frickin’ work she let pile up during my day off on Monday. Now I’m ready to hurt someone else for her…
I have today off, but someone from work got a hold of me to report my assistant, saying she hung up on them while they were complaining to her about something that happened with some outgoing mail (that turned out not even being our fault). The first thing I asked was “Well, were you being rude to her?” Bit of a pause before they went “Well… I was pretty unhappy…”
I explained to them that I actually encourage Bryanna to hang up on people if they’re acting rude and unprofessional; that while we are there to help with any outgoing mail issues you may have, we do not have to take your abuse. That shut them the hell up. I told them if they call her back, they had better apologize and if it happens again, I will be the one reporting them.
I called Bryanna as well and sure enough, she told me they were yelling and swearing at her. Real nice! I could hear her nearly choking up as she was telling me about it. This person’s twice our age, btw. A whole bunch of awful jackasses work at our job and seem to think us mail clerks are at the bottom of the pecking order or something. But very interesting how none of them take that attitude with me anymore.
So much for my day off. That got me all fired up and concerned for Bryanna working alone from now on. If only I was there, I would’ve lined them out real good! But Bryanna will get there someday if she works there for as long as I have. I used to be the one on the verge of tears too before I started returning fire.
