Finally got a new (Secondhand) Forklift at work today.

A 3 1/2 ton Counterbalanced Forklift.
3 1/2 ton is the lifting capacity of the Forklift, not the weight of the Forklift.
Counterbalanced means that there is a 3 1/2 ton slab of steel built into the rear of the Forklift.
To "Counterbalance" the maximum lifting Capacity.

All shiny and new, what's not to like? Reminds me of the one I used when I worked as stock clerk at a warehouse. The only part I had trouble with was pitching the load at max height when loading and unloading to/from the highest rack. Not being able to see what's happening up there can leave you wondering.

@PatKirby Luckily the highest we have to load/unload is on/off the back of Trucks.

Sounds like steady work. My license expired way back in 2017, but I actually miss the work.

i hate the smell of the propane and having change out tanks at worst inconvenient moments and places.
otherwise fun to operate

@1490wayb Always runs out at very inconvenient times.

Looks well presented. I hope it is worth your wait. I assume because you are posting it here, you are happy with it!!

I understand speed is not a real requirement, but does it go faster because it is Red:)
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@Gusman Probably still looks faster. What makes it hard to get used to? (I have only driven cars, utes, and small trucks - so my experience is limited)
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Zeusdelight it handles so much differently to our other Forklift.
Every Forklift has different Handling.
The Brakes are soft so need to be careful. Steering is not as direct, just take some getting used to.
At least we have another one.
No need to wait until the fork is free to get about our work.

@Gusman Yes, two will be much better. Thanks for the explanation.

Toyota. Nice. Hate the propane though.
